Under The Stars Is Where We Used To Stand, But You Choose To Leave

I.
He left me... under the stars and he went above the rainbow. At least, that is what I like to think.

II.
Staring at the moon in the midnight glow, standing in the sand with the chilling howl.
He left me... Left me to grow, and left me to die. All at the same time.

III.
That is what I know. A prince in the night while I was his princess and we ran through the night.

IV.
But now, I am a lonely queen that gave up the choice to move on because I made the choice to hold onto the past.

V.
All alone I will stand because my king chose to leave me lying in the sand. I kept walking through the midnight passage, looking for the owls.

VI.
I hoped they would hoot and hoot like they were cheering for something. I found comfort and joy in the midnight saddness.
