"So how does living with the celebrity feels like chim?" Taehyung grabbed the little cactus pot on Jimin's desk and started poking the needles, "Owww! It bit me!"
"Give it back dude you are gonna kill it" Jimin chided. He's fond of the little thing.
As the little cactus pot flew out of Taehyung's hands and landed back on the office desk, he proceed to put on his best puppy face, "I felt so unloved and ignored, ever since you started living with him we don't even hang out anymore"
"What are you even talking about" Jimin narrowed his eyes and slid the finished document back into the manila folder. "He just moved in yesterday"
"Well it felt like ages"
"What about the guy you were hanging out with a while ago? I thought you liked him" Jimin took out another urgent file from the pile, and is getting annoyed by the amount of extra work he was forced to finish. Just as he was starting to read the side notes from Seokjin, Taehyung's sudden outburst of anger startled him out of his chair.
"I don't want to talk about him!"
"....ok......" Jimin gulped.
Lying he did. He want to talk about him, he just don't know how or where to start.
"I'm sorry chim, it's just, I'm not ready to talk about it yet" Taehyung doesn't want to lash out at his best friend. It wasn't his, or anyone's fault.
"Hey, that's alright, just know that I'm always available okay?"
Jimin have always knew about this mysterious boyfriend of Taehyung's, but he have also knew they wouldn't end well. Since, well, the guy would never agree to show his face, or even let Taehyung talk about him to anyone. It was just the classic signs of been kept as the side bitch, but Taehyung was so caught up in his charms to realize it.
"To date?" Taehyung joked.
"To talk. Besides, you don't even like me that way"
"But we are soulmates, maybe we should date. Who knows" Taehyung folded his arms on the desk and rested his head on them, eyes heather.
"Let's not take our relationship there, I don't want to potentially lose my best buddy"
As the two carried on with their conversation, the door was busted open and a loud yawn followed a raspy voice, "You ready for lunch?" Min Yoongi was as eccentric as ever.
"Wow, you two already lunch together? Am I missing out on something?" Taehyung sat up straight and looked at the blonde stranger.
"No, he just owes me an entire year of food, sorry what was your name again? I didn't catch it last time"
"It's Taehyung, Kim Taehyung" He shook Yoongi's hand and checked him out.
"Wow, you are a lot better looking close up, I heard you are also from D town? Our family might even knew each other"
"No way, you from there too?" Yoongi's eyes beamed as he let out a small chuckle, "It's been a while since I went back, I really missed that boring place. Nothing ever happens there, but I guess I'm sentimental about it"
Jimin looked on as the two immediately connected through lineage, and he was happy, at least in the beginning.
Taehyung have always been a sucker for pretty faces and a good romance story, falling in and out of love was everyday life for him. Jimin envied him for it, to be able to enjoy the feeling of love. It's not like Jimin doesn't have suitors, but his fear of all the possibility of a bad ending trounces over his desire to be in a relationship. Let alone to be vulnerable to someone to have absolute control over his emotions.
Consequently overtime, it became habit to withdraw when the opportunity arrives, and it also became habit to tell himself: he's just not the right one.
"Hey, should I go after him?" Taehyung immediately turned over to Jimin when Yoongi excused himself to the washroom. The three found themselves in a simple luncheon cafe, next to a rather quiet alleyway.
"What? But you barely know him"Jimin almost choked on his water, he turned over to look at Taehyung on the other side of the restaurant booth, "I mean, why?"
"He's cute to start, we are from the same hometown, and why not" It was matter of fact for Taehyung, because he never asks why, always why not.
"I don't think it's a good idea buddy, if you talk to him some more you'll understand. He's so salty, and you're too sweet. It won't be a good match, trust me"
Jimin took another sip out of his glass, and tapped his fingers on the table, losing rhythm.
"Where did he go? Did he fell into the toilet or something? I'll go check on—"
"It's okay, I'll go" Taehyung winked as he got up from the booth, but as he walked pass the entrance of the restaurant, a glimpse of a familiar silhouette passed by the corner of his eyes.
Taehyung froze on the spot. It was as if his brain stopped working and gave the command center over to his heart, he rushed out of the restaurant and chased after the shadow in his memories.
He was huffing and puffing as he turned around the corner, his eyes darting left and right trying to locate the boy that have left him heartbroken. When he finally caught a sight of him, he was hugging another man, taller, and skinner.
".... so that's why" He mumbled to himself, "And here i am wondering what happened to us like an idiot"
