Mr. Torpe meets Ms. Mahiyain Book 2 (A Promise To Keep)

Chapter 4

The seminar is almost over.  The General Manager is speaking on the stage and says that......"....to all the employees.  Who are qualified to have a free training abroad. Will going to be promoted and have an advance training for a position that the company to be provided after the training period.  Hence, it will be given according to the performance and ability to the position required. For now, every employees are going be evaluated and the results are the basis for this project.  So, goodluck every one and keep up the good work.  Thank you." All the employees that attended the seminar were very glad.  Sa binigay na opportunity sa kanila.  Ngayon they have to focus harder sa work.  Para masungkit ang pambihirang pagkakataon.

Sa wakas natapos na rin ang seminar.  Makakapagpahinga na rin.  Two days ang seminar ng company dito sa Subic Pampanga.

Kasama ang mga executive ng different branches dito sa Philippines. Magkakaroon ulit ng seminar after 2 weeks dahil hindi nakarating ang mga representative sa America at Japan.  After a week they will announce kung sino ang mga magpaparticipate sa seminar.

"Bes, ano sa palagay mo.  Sino kaya ang makakasama sa seminar ulit." Tanong ni Marie. Naglalakad sila papunta sa cottage na nirentahan ng kumpanya para sa 1 day leisure time nila.  Tomorrow early morning uuwi na lahat ng kasama sa seminar.  Start na naman ulit ng work.

Sagot ko sa kanya na nag isip din kung sino nga ba. "Hindi ko rin alam bes. Siguro baka mga bossing na lang kasi from abroad na ang mga aattend." Kibit balikat na lang.

They are enjoying the one day free time na binigay ng company sa lahat ng umattend ng seminar.  Naging way ito na makapag relax sa magandang view ng beach.  So refreshing.  Walang ingay ng mga sasakyan at ng mga taong magugulo. Masarap  mag unwind.

But that was yesterday.  We're back to the real world. Trabaho as usual.  Dito sa office busy na naman ang lahat.  Sa break time lang nag uusap-usap.

"Jay pinatatawag ka ni Sir Ram.  Pumunta kasi ako ng HR department kanina. Pinakisuyuan ako ni Sir Ram na tawagin ka. Maghihintay daw siya doon."

She nod at her to confirm na pupunta na siya.  But Jayeanne was wondering kung bakit siya pinatatawag.

Sir Ram is the supervisor at the HR department. Medyo strikto pero most of the time you can rely on him.  Lalo na kung about sa work.  He is gay but a very professional person. Many of the girls in the office had a crush on him. Kaya lang mas gusto niya ang mga boys.

In front of his office door.  She knock first before slowly open the door.

"Good morning Sir.  Pinatatawag niyo raw po ako."

"Oh yes, come in.  Have a sit."

Then,  Sir Ram was  fulling something under the side of his table.  A two sheets of bond paper with writings on it.

"Miss Jay...I want you to sign this paper but before that you can read it first.  Ask me if you didn't understand what is written there.  So we can discuss it now.  Alright.  Go read it.". He handed the paper to her.  Jay started to read it.

After a few minutes.

"Sir.  Ano pong ibig sabihin nito. I was chosen to train abroad?" Tanong ko. "Kasi Sir ang alam ko we are under observation according to our performance.  Pero, kababalik pa lang natin sa work ngayon.  Kahapon lang na announce yung free training.  What's the reason Sir?  Hindi ko maintindihan."

He just lean back on his chair and cross his arms on his chest. Smiling and said.

"Well...our management saw a potential in you. That's why they already choose you. If you're worry about your officemates. Huwag mo ng alalahanin yun. Meron na kaming announcement na gagawin.  But, bago gawin yun.  Don't tell anyone about this.  We just inform you earlier para makapaghanda ka na ng mga papers mo ahead of time." He explained.

She just nodded to confirm na naiintindihan na niya ang lahat. Pinirmahan na niya yung documents and handed it back to her Supervisor.

Pahabol pa ni Sir Ram.  "Please at this time.  Keep it a secret even to your friends.  If they ask you, kung bakit ka pinatawag.  Just tell them na tungkol ito sa trabaho na binigay sa'yo na kailangan mo ng tapusin."
Pagtatapos niya.

Tumayo na siya at nagpaalam na.

Malapit na si Jay sa cubicle niya ng makita siya ni Marie.

"Hoy Bes, anong balita. Bakit pinatawag ka ni Sir Ram?" Usisa nito sa kanya.

Kung ano yung sinabi ni Sir Ram na excuse na dapat kong sabihin.  Yun lang din ang sinabi ko kay Marie. Kahit gustong-gusto ko ng sabihin sa kanya ang totoo. I can't. Kasi yun ang dapat gawin. Magiging bias ang dating nun sa kanila.  Kaya alam ko na ang reason ni Sir at ng management.
