The Last Survivors

CHAPTER 7

I change his point of focus and burst his bubble and I start introducing ourselves to him, "hey. I'm Bobby, that with the Nerdy glasses is Hannah, the short one is Katlin, the one with a tattoo written "serenity" is Jake and...." I am interrupted as he adds on "who is the beautiful one, with the beautiful eyes?" And that's when my blood boils "she is your one way ticket to hell"I say under my breath and he says " what?" I put on a sinister smirk and decide to go fix the door we broke and my newly found 'frienemy' soon follows

considering the hard to get through door, we found it safe enough to get our own rooms and soon We all cradle at our perfect sleeps uninterrupted by bloodthirsty vampires or flesh hungry werewolves. But they seem to trail our every move.

We get up early to go find the cure Jake had stashed away when running away from the monsters..."it lies deep inside Ushaka marine...I hid it under one of the water slides." I was afraid she would say that...

We start walking there, the sun's golden rays embraced our skin in warmth and the cold royal blue ocean water kissing on our feet bringing back memories of when we used to come to the beach and it would be full of people...now not a soul is to be found...we get closer to the marine world and from a distance Hannah spots a lone wolf feasting on a curcus. And she swings and throws the knife straight at its temple with uncanny precision...not a sound made...we all stare at amazement and she just says "take a picture...it will last longer" then proudly trails off leaving her foot marks onto the wet fresh sand.

We soon enter Ushaka marine and
We reach the cure. Right under the "barracuda" a ride I used to enjoy with my family when I used to come to Ushaka, but that's all it was now, memories. We all take a sip of the cure and leave some for when we meet other survivers.

"Hey? Do you hear that"? Asks Katlin? "What is ?" We all ask . She wears a smile on her face and says...."nothing" and turns on the generator.."so why don't we enjoy ourselves a bit, take our minds off the dreadful world"

We all nod in agreement and shuffle through the shops and we all slip on our swimming costumes... One in particular that I remembered was Jess in a bikini that matched her ocean blue eyes, "what do you think" she asks me wearing a strawberry red blushed face "your perfect!" I replied and was left mesmerised.

We all jump into the pool and began swimming for a while...I swam over to Jess who was leaning on the wall, I pinned her against the wall then stole a kiss, "I lobe you" I whispered in her ear and as I was about to trail off she grabbed my arm and pressed my lips against hers, we separated shyly as the whole group was coughing awkwardly

We stared at each other before we were interrupted by growls that suddenly fill the area....we quickly run over to put on our regular clothes and to our amazement, VAMPIRES!! IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY!? ..we quickly run for it and I hear a scream, we turn around and Jess is pulled to the floor by her legs, she signals for us to run for it but I can't find it in my self to do so...and for a brief moment, I swear one of the vampires smiled at me in a sinister smirk and bit Jess in the neck...I cry out and I pull out the gun containing 4 silver bullets. This time I don't hesitate... I pull the trigger and the bullets are sent flying into the vampires, I get on my knees and crawl over to Jess with my tears forming a river behind me "move away from her!! She will turn!!" Hannah warns at me holding her favourite knives in hand

I cry besides Jess hoping she springs into life...and just as I was about to lose hope she springs on her feet, Hannah throws the knife straight at her chest and Jess catches it "watch where you throw that next time"she remarks with a grin.

"Bu-but how?!" Hannah asked in confusion...."I don't know but I think instead of the cure preventing me from being turned, it made the virus adapt to my body, so in short...I got vampire powers...how cool is that?!!!" Jess exclaims excitedly.

But I still cry at the thought of what could Have happened.. Jess pull me into her arm and her newly found strength almost brakes my spine in half. "Sorry" she giggles" I guess I don't know my own strength" and we all laugh at her words

We all try to digest the changes that slowly take place with Jess. Her eyes slowly began to change to a piercing yellow colour and her hair was a tone darker, skin started to become pale and her canines became sharper

*Jess's POV*

What is happening to me? Why do I suddenly feel... different?
I hope I'm not turning.

But I hope my friends can forgive me if I do something wrong. I just hope I don't hurt anyone

But I think it's better I leave, I rather not hurt anyone. I can't risk being around them.

"I think we need to go back to the hotel and strategies" Hannah states.
"No.. what we need is to find a way to make more of the cure" Katlin argued
"I think it's safe to say that Hannah had turned little Kaitlin into a nerd" Jake states and we all laugh
