We had all just gotten back from a very nostalgic day at Nandos. The best part of the night was when Calum ordered a salad and all the guys teased him, singing "You don't make friends with salad! You don't make friends with salad!" I missed their humor. It was so nice having everything be normal again
When we pulled up into the long driveway of the mansion, Ashton suggested that we have another one of our legendary movie nights.
"We haven't had one in a while.." he said.
"Do you even have any good movies?" I asked.
"We can pick one up from the video store I used to work at." he answered.
"Okay." I said.
"Luke, Calum, you two drop by the store and get some snacks. Carter, Michael and I will get the movie." Ashton instructed.
We all agreed to meet each other back at the mansion at 10, and then Cal and Luke got into a separate car, and drove off.
At the video store, all three of us split up into different sections of the store, looking for a good movie. I was looking in the romance section with Ashton in the comedy. I ran my fingers through the movies, reading each title as I went.
I found it funny, growing up, parents always teach their children not to judge a book by its cover, or not to judge a movie by it's title. However, parents do it all the time, telling their kids not to talk to certain people, well they're judging them too. It got me thinking about my own family, and how it was broken.
I couldn't find a movie that wouldn't want to make the guys kill themselves out of boredom, so I went up to Ash to see if he found anything good. He was holding two movies. I bent over to read the titles. Finding Nemo and The Dark Knight Rises. Why was I not surprised?
"Where's Mikey?" I asked, looking around the small video room.
"I'm not sure." he said, stilling looking at the shelf of videos.
I wandering around the room, until I came across a door. It was titled Restricted Movies. 18+. Of course Michael would be there.I walked into the room. It was the size of a small walk-in closet. The walls were lined with movies.
"Michael, get out of there." I said.
Michael jumped a little. He turned a light shade of red as he followed me out. We were walking back to Ashton, to see him talking to a lady. She was blonde and had green eyes.
"Who's this?" I asked when we got close enough to them.
"This is my new friend..."
"Mirthe." she filled in the gap.
"Well it's nice to meet you Mirthe." I hel my hand out and she happily shook it. Michael did the same.
"You too! I was actually just looking for videos when I accidentally elbowed your friend in the face." she laughed awkwardly and looked at Ashton.
"Oh, well. Okay, we should get going now." I smiled at her and motioned for Ashton to come so we could pay.
"Ummm, yeah sure." he scribbled his name and number into a scrap of old paper he found in his pocket and handed it to the pretty girl.
"It was nice meeting you." I said as we walked to the counter.
"I would like to get these two." Ash said at the counter.
"That will be seven dollars." the clerk said.
"I usually get them for free." he said, confused.
"Ashton, you don't work here anymore." the clerk said, exasperated. I can tell this isn't the first time this has happened.
"You're cold." Ashton said, handing him the money.
