×Your POV×
Chara ate silently and quickly, ignoring my curious glances. When they were done they sat in their silence, but they kept glancing at me, as if to say "please hurry." I tried to do so for them.
"Hey, Mala, is there an Inn where Chara and I could stay tonight?" I asked kindly. Mala thought it over.
"Well, there's one down the street, but it's rather expensive." I mentally facepalmed. Of course. They don't use G like monsters, they have normal dollars.
"Oh..." Mala smiled.
"If you like, you can stay with us for the night." Chara disapproved immediately, glancing at me and a slight glare. I glanced back with a sorry smile.
"That would be nice." Chara held back a growl and forced a smile.
"Do you have a bathroom here?" They asked suddenly, their voice a little too loud. Mala, startled, nodded.
"O-oh." She cleared her throat and smiled, "yes, it's just down the hall, to the left." Chara nodded and mumbled an angry thanks and walked out of the room.
Mala was suddenly very quiet, and I was too. Billy and Lily seemed a bit put off themselves, biting their lips and shifting in their seats. Mala smiled and excused them, taking their plates to the sink for them. She grabbed mine and her's as well, and I grabbed Chara's for her. She placed them in the sink and started to do the dishes.
"About Chara..." I began, Mala cut me off with a sudden giggle.
"They're quite stubborn, aren't they?" I nodded.
"Yeah... Thank you for letting us stay." Mala shrugged.
"You came from the Underground, didn't you?" I blinked I'm surprise.
"A-Ah, yes. We both did."
"I can tell. You came from that direction, plus, you don't have any money despite all the clothes and things you have."
"You seem to know quite a bit."
"I would. I've been in your position." She turned to me, leaning on the counter. Her eyes were narrowed at me, inspecting my clothes. A humorless chuckle echoed in the small room.
"Your clothes are rather dusty." She pulled on my shirt with her forefinger and thumb, releasing it and watching as dust flew into the air. She looked right into my dead, e/c eyes, and glared. "Why is that?" She spat.
"What can I say? They're old clothes." I replied with the same venom. She kept glaring at me, but eventually a smirk grew onto her face.
"Do you know why those humans spared monsters at one time?" I didn't reply. "It's because they believed monsters deserved a second chance at life. Would you agree?" I shrugged, a red glint shining in my eyes.
"Sure. The good ending is sweet. But I'm sure you've figured it out," I smiled crazily, "I like this ending more." She took a step back into the counter.
"You're insane!" I laughed.
"Maybe I am." I took a step forward, "maybe we all are!" She reached for a knife on the counter, which I grabbed first. "I thought you liked sparing?"
"Y/n?" I took a step back to look at the voice. Lily was standing in the hallway, her head tilted to one side. Fear was obvious in her eyes. "What are you doing to mommy?" I smile sweetly.
"Lily! My sweet best friend!" She laughed nervously. "I'm not doing anything. What do you mean?"
"Well... You have that knife." She pointed to the knife I was holding, "And you were really close to mommy." I laughed.
"Oh, this?" I brandished the knife, "this is nothing! I was just washing it." Mala smiled.
"Don't worry Lily. It's nothing." Mala said and walked over to her daughter and picked her up. Lily's head was resting on her shoulder and her eyes were closed. Mala turned around and glared at me. "Stay away from my children." She mouthed before walking away.
I growled. After a moment of raging, I decided to go look for Chara. One quick look into the bathroom confirmed they had snuck out. A sigh escaped me, but I couldn't blame them.
I left the house and looked around the town for a few minutes before I spotted an open window. It was nearly winter, so whoever owned that house probably didn't just leave their window open. I crawled into the house and saw, of course, Chara their with a bloody knife and shirt. Their sweater was on a table, folded neatly. A body was in front of Chara, multiple stabs wound in it's stomach and a slit in it's throat.
"Chara." I spoke. They jumped back to look at me, a smile made its way to their face.
"Heya, Y/n! Want to join me? The rest of the family is still alive." I opened my mouth to protest, but instead I smiled. I snuck into the kitchen and grabbed a knife.
I crept into another room, and looked at the bed. In it was a woman, probably around 32. She was having a bad dream, or maybe a good one. Her face was twisted and distorted, but a wide smile was on her face.
"Sweet dream?" I asked just loud enough to wake her. Her glazed, blue eyes opened to stare at me. A gasp managed to escape her as I plunged the knife into her ribs. I covered her mouth to muffle her scream and I dragged the knife across her throat in a clean cut. Her screams went silent as thick, red blood trickled down her neck and pooled around her head. Chara walked in a moment later.
"Holy shit." They whispered approvingly. "You killed that bitch, huh?" I nodded and placed my bloodied hand on their shoulder, feeling myself begin to black out.
"Let's destroy this world, shall we?" Chara nodded and giggled, blood began to drop from their eyes. A splat could be heard as more of the think liquid ran out of their eyes and mouth. I ran the edge of my blade along my neck, drawing a few drops of blood. Then, I felt myself black out.
