×Your POV×

I finally found Chara after an hour or so of looking. They were bloody and panting, knife in hand. A body was in front of them, stabbed to death, their face etched in pain. Chara was smiling and cleaning their knife before their eyes landed on me. They waved to me.

"Hey, Y/n! How was your friend's?" I sighed and walked over to my best friend. They were genuinely happy, and I felt bad that I was going to ruin that now. Chara finished cleaning their knife and put it down before going over to the body.

I looked to the body and back to Chara while biting my lip. Eventually I stood and helped them carry the body away. We through it into the river nearby. We clean off the blood and stayed away from the town for a few hours. Finally I turned to Chara to see them deep in thought.

×Chara's POV×

I was lost in thought. Is it possible for monsters to feel? Is it possible for murders to love? Why do I even care? Is it Y/n making me question this? Is it possible that I love... Y/n? No! She's just my best friend and partner in crime. My... Beautiful best friend that I dream about sometimes. Oh shit.

"Do murders love?" I blurted out. I covered my mouth with both hands and looked at a very confused and thoughtful Y/n. She was more curious than suspicious of the question, which was good I guess.

"I mean... No one said they couldn't. I've loved before." She replied casually. I nodded at that, smiling to myself.

"Do you love anyone right now?" I spoke without thinking again. Y/n laughed and blushed a bit. She thought again.

"Maybe." She shrugged and stood up, popping her back. I stood up as well. Maybe I could tell her...

"Hey, Y/n?" She hummed in response. My mind started panic. I change my mind! I don't want to tell her! I freaked out internally. Suddenly a kid, probably 6, came running over to us. I recognized her as the kid Y/n was talking to earlier.

"Hello Y/n! Is this your friend?" She waved at me. I waved back. I could see Y/n nod from the corner of my eye. She was smiling. "Hello, Chara. My mommy wanted to invite you over for lunch!" As if on cue, Y/n's stomach made a loud noise. Her and I both laughed and nodded.

"I could go for some food." Y/n said, looking at me. I nodded.

"Sure." She smiled and excitedly grabbed my hand. I blinked in surprise and held her hand as she guilded me to the house. There was a pink blush on my cheeks that was refusing to fade while Y/n gripped my hand. She was blushing slightly but happy. It made me smile. God she's so beautiful.

Y/n and Lily, the kid, led me to a cozy wooden house, just big enough for Lily's family of four. Three, at the moment. Y/n walked in like she owned the place, something she always did, while I hesitantly stepped in after her. Lily ran off to get her mom and left me and Y/n to get seated at the table. I sat next to my friend, feeling my anxiety fade while she was there.

Y/n was playing with a loose thread on her shirt and leaning back in her chair, waiting patiently for Lily and her family to return. Don't look at her. Don't look at her. I looked at her again. Her h/l hair was tangled from the wind while her face seemed indifferent, but I knew she was getting annoyed with the h/c locks.

Her eyes trailed up and met mine, holding them in place. She stared at me with bored e/c eyes that pierced the soul. My cheeks began to heat up as Y/n kept staring into my eyes. I studied her breathtaking features, but not too intently, I didn't want to make her uncomfortable. When she noticed that I wasn't looking at her anymore she looked away again.

I smiled and looked down, suddenly very interested in my feet. Y/n laughed at my side, causing me to look over to her. She was looking directly at me with a smile plastered on her face. I felt the heat rise in my cheeks as I smiled back embarrassedly.

"You're cute when you do that." Y/n commented. I turned a scarlet red. Y/n seemed to notice what she said because she covered her mouth suddenly and widened her eyes.

×Your POV×

Shit! What did I just say?! Chara was a blushing mess and honestly so was I. I opened my mouth to speak but no words proceeded, I was far too embarrassed to say anything.

"Y-You think I'm c-cute?" Chara asked quietly. A small smile had made it's way to their face, which was adorable.

"I-I mean... Y-Yeah! Y-You're cute!" I stuttered out. Chara giggled and smiled fully at me, causing butterflies to appear in my stomach.

"T-Thanks Y/n, you always know how to cheer me up." I nodded, still red as a tomato, and turned away again. A few minutes later Lily, Mala, and Lily's brother all entered the kitchen. Lily ran over to the seat next to me.

"I call dibs on this seat!" She stated happily, climbing into the chair. I smiled at her and she smiled back, showing her teeth and one missing tooth in the front.

"This is Y/n. Y/n, this is my brother Billy!" Billy waved at me and smiled. He didn't seem as shy as his sister was at first. Mala handed us our plates and we thanked her, though, Chara was a bit too quiet.

"Hm? Did you say something?" Mala looked at Chara curiously. Chara blushed and turn to the side.

"They said, "thank you." " I repeated for them. Mala made an "oh" sound and smiled.

"You're quite welcome." Mala replied sweetly.

"Let's eat!" Billy said excitedly, and began to devour his food. Chara and I giggled and agreed and began to eat as well.
