×5 Years Later×
×Your POV×It's been a long time since Chara and I made it to the surface and... I think I'm losing my edge. I've found killing harder and harder. Chara definitely noticed but she doesn't seem to want to bring it up. It's kinda scary that they're so quiet, but I've grown to accept it.
We've begun are endless task of picking off the military. So far it's been easy, but I think that streak of luck is over as of now.
Chara shook me violently to wake me from my slumber, nearly slapping me before I shot up out of the comfort of my bed. The door to our hotel was suddenly kicked down. Chara threw me my pistol as they grabbed their own, shooting what appeared to be the police. We held them off for too damn long before Chara shoved me out of the door. Of course we had killed everyone by now but more red lights were in the distance. I was pushed into a car as Chara stomped on the gas.
And just like that we were off. Chara drove us off the road and into nearby nature, loosing the cops behind us quickly. We drove in a panicky silence for what felt like and could've been hours. They stopped suddenly and began panting. They started to freak out minorly. They looked at with a blank expression.
"Chara..." They sighed.
"What's been going on?"
"What?"
"You haven't been okay with killing. What happened?" I bit my lip. I didn't even know, how was I supposed to answer that? Chara sighed at my lack of response and started the car again. They drove off.
We were on the road for days. Siphoning gas from cars to keep going and staying on the down low until a familiar sight crept into view. My heart stopped.
"Mt. Ebott?" Chara didn't reply. We drove into a town and came to a stop. "Wait..." Everything clicked. This was our first stop when we began killing humanity five years ago. "Why are we here?" Chara simply pulled me out of the car.
"You've returned!" Called a voice. I turned on my heel and studied the town, glaring into the empty windows of every house. "I've been waiting!"
"Hello, Lily." Chara replied calmly, but slightly on edge. The girl hopped out of the shadows, smiling sweetly, her clothes soaked in blood, a wicked, demonic smiling clinging to her face. I took a step back.
"Do you like what I've done? Isn't it lovely?" Asked Lily, motioning to herself. A part of me was begging to say yes, but another wanted to puke violently. "It was done with your knife, Y/n, don't you like it?"
"What did you do?" I blurted. Lily laughed.
"I guess I can explain. When my dad came home, my mother told him all about you! He was ready to kill you. But I got to him first. He and my mum both. Next was Billy. Well, I thought he was dead. His body is nowhere to be found though, so maybe not." I couldn't take it. I clutched my stomach and swallowed roughly, trying to keep the contents of my stomach down. Chara turned to look at me.
"Well?" They asked me.
"Well?" I repeated.
"I knew it. You don't like to kill anymore, is that it?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Ever since we killed that one chick that claimed to know you you've been reluctant to lay a finger on anyone." Chara grabbed the sides of my head lightly, "so? Is that it?" A single tear rolled down my cheek.
Amber. My best friend when I was little, recognized me. I remembered her calling out my name is fear and sobbing loudly when I killed her. What got me was when she mumbled, "you can still be good." Before she died.
"Yes! Okay? I just-" Chara quickly kissed me to quiet me, succeeding. I was frozen. "C-Chara?" I choked.
"You could've said something. Anything. It's okay, Y/n." They assured me, resting their head against mine. "I love you, Y/n. You could've said something about this."
"Will you two stop?" Lily asked, annoyed. "It's gross. C'mon Y/n, let's go kill something." I shook my head.
"I... I don't want to." Lily rolled her eyes.
"Sure you do! Let's-"
"She said no! Leave us alone." Chara defended. Lily growled. "Y/n?" Chara whispered.
"Yes?"
"Reset. We can be good. Okay?" I nodded. Lily jumped at Chara, but I quickly pushed them away and took the stab myself. Lily gasped.
"Nonono! Y/n?" I smiled as the world faded to black, and the reset button appeared before my eyes. I pressed it, watching as the the golden color of buttercups flickered into existence beneath me.
"I'm coming Chara." I promised as I forced myself up.
