"You're not making any sense," you pleaded to him.
"I'm sorry, this wasn't how I planned for things to happen," Jax stared back at you with his fierce blue eyes.
"Could have fooled me."
"I'm sorry, but it was only a matter of time, I can't fight that."
You couldn't speak, everything was falling apart all around you, and there was nothing you could do.
"I'm sorry," Jax said as he leaned over to kiss your forehead before leaving.
That was the last time you saw Jackson Teller before you left Charming. He was leaving you for Tara, his estranged high school sweetheart that had recently moved back into town. You had endured a lot of shit with Jax over the past few months the two of you had been together. His separation with his wife, finding out he was to be a father, and now this, this was the last straw.
But what he didn't know, was that you were pregnant, with his child, safe to say his seed was strong. You had planned on telling him, but you thought it was best for the both of you, that he never knew, seems he had plans of his own either way.
You told no one that you were leaving, nor did you tell anyone that you were expecting, you were on your own now.
At first it was hard, very hard, but after you little girl started to grow up, it became a little easier. You found a good job and were able to properly provide for the two of you.
"Jax, you're never going to believe what I found," Gemma handed him a piece of paper.
"What am I looking at mom?" He glanced quickly over it.
"It's a family tree-"
"And...?"
"And," she gave him a look, "I was playing around with that ancestry website, ran our last name, and this came up," she pointed to the paper.
Jax sighed as he took a closer look, going quiet when he realized what he was looking at, "Jesus christ."
"Looks like her skipping town wasn't the only thing she didn't bother to mention," Gemma sassed.
It was a beautiful day and you thought it was perfect to take your daughter to the park for a picnic.
Watching her as she played, you couldn't help but see how much she reminded you of her father. Same blonde hair that flipped at the ends when long enough, same smile, but she had your eyes.
"She looks just like you."
You jumped up from your blanket on the grass, that voice could only belong to one person, the same person that haunted your dreams at night.
"What in the hell are you doing here Jax?" You stood up to face him, he looked different, more mature than you last remembered.
"You know why I'm here," his eyes never left yours.
"How'd you find out?" You looked away, scanning to make sure your little girl was still playing in the nearby sandbox.
He smirked, "You gave her my last name, put me on her birth certificate, it was only a matter of time."
"Yeah well, when the time came, I wanted her to know who her father was," you folded your arms over your chest, "so that she can make up her own mind if she wanted to find you."
Jax turned to look out to the sandbox, his eyes instantly widening, even from this distance he could see it, she was his.
"What now Jax? You gonna try and take her away from me, fight for custody?" Tears began to form, but you fought them back.
"I just want to get to know my daughter."
You were skeptical, but you saw the look on his face as he watched her, he at least deserved to meet her.
"Come on," you gestured for him to follow you.
"Hey baby girl-"
She looked up at you.
"This is mommy's friend Jax, can you say 'hello'?"
She looked over to him and smiled, giggling as she babbled out a proper toddler hello.
Now tears were forming in his eyes, he didn't fight to keep them back, a couple of them streamed down his face as he smiled.
Your little one was smart, she may not have known why he was crying, but she knew he needed to be comforted. She stood up on her tiny legs, and stuck her hand up toward him.
He squatted down to her height, wondering what she was doing, same as you did. She reached up to lay her tiny hand on his cheek, leaning closely over to him, she pecked his nose.
She'd done it to you countless times when she would catch you in a downer mood, but she didn't know Jax, so it surprised you just as much as it surprised him. The water works had been released as you smiled down on them.
