Michael hooks his leg tightly around Liane to bring her back to him. “Mikey, I have to get up so I can get ready for class,” she smiles tiredly at her boyfriend.

“No,” he whines, “just tell your professor you aren’t feeling well or something.” He wraps his arms tightly around her, nuzzling his face in her neck.

“Fine, hand me my phone so I can e-mail her,” she gives in, also wanting to stay in bed all day with Michael.

“You, uh, know Luke?” He questions awkwardly, handing her the iPhone that said Luke, or lucifer as it said in her phone, had called her.

“Yeah, we’ve been hanging out for the past week or whatever,” she shrugs, starting up a new e-mail. Michael doesn’t respond after that and she wonders if that’s bad. Well, actually of course that’s bad because that’s the guy who slept with his girlfriend. She was honestly not helping Michael with all of the people she kept hanging out with. “I’m gonna call him back to make sure everything’s all right,” she murmurs with a slight guilty tone. He doesn’t say anything so she just quickly scrambles out of the bed and out of the room. She sits up against the wall next to Michael’s door and dials Luke’s number.

“Hi, my love!” He cheers happily into the speaker. She giggles quietly, her mood immediately lifting at the sound of Luke’s voice.

“Hey, Lukey,” she smiles lightly.

“Why are you at Michael’s flat?” He questions curiously. “Did you guys resolve things?” He sings.

“Yes we resolved things,” she laughs at her best friend’s happy tone.

“Aw,” he coos, “was it all cute and shit? I missed it,” he whines.

“It wasn’t all that cute, you didn’t miss much,” she assures him. “But now I have a brilliant idea.”

“What’s your brilliant idea, babe?” He asks with an amused tone.

“You and Michael should become friends again,” she beams.

“Um, no. Michael hates me,” he laughs, “that’s not happening.”

“Oh, come on,” she pouts, “The two of you were best friends before the whole Elena thing. Plus, I helped Calum and Michael become friends again too.”

“Yeah, but Michael didn’t hate Calum, and speaking of Calum, he hates me too,” he points out.

“Calum couldn’t hate anyone. He’s Calum.”

“He beat me up a week after Michael caught us. Oh, and Michael beat me up when he caught us too,” he mumbles. Liane, although she really shouldn’t, immediately feels immensely bad for the blond.

“I’m sorry, Lukey,” she whispers sadly. “Do you miss them?” She asks cautiously.

“Of course I do, they were my best friends, but I made a mistake and I understand that they want nothing to do with me.” Liane honestly wants to cry – just because she’s a big baby – at Luke’s story.

“I want to do something Luke, please let me try to help,” she begs, still keeping her voice quiet so she wouldn’t wake Calum and so Michael wouldn’t hear.

“Li, I know you feel bad, but there’s nothing you can do. If it helps, I still have Ash, and Ashlyn. And I still have you. As long as you and I stay friends, I’ll be fine.” Liane smiles stupidly, fumbling with her fingers.

“I’ve gotta get going to make sure Michael’s okay,” she sighs, not wanting to get off the phone with her best friend.

“Go fix your man,” he teases.

“Please don’t say that, Lucas.” Luke laughs while rolling his eyes.

“I’ll call you later?”

“Yeah, of course, babe. Love you,” he coos.

“Love you too, Luke,” she laughs before pressing the end button. She pushes her body from the floor and shuffles back into Michael’s bedroom, crawling back into his bed next to him.

“You were on the phone for a while,” Michael mumbles, facing the ceiling.

“It was only, like, ten minutes,” she points out. “Are you upset with me?” She asks softly, turning her head to face him.

“No, baby,” he sighs, “I just hate him and don’t trust him with my girlfriends.” Liane purses her lips disappointedly and turns her head back to face the other way.

“Hate is a strong word, Mikey,” she whispers.

“So,” he shrugs, tugging her waist to make her face him once again, “it’s also an accurate word.” He gently cups her jaw and presses their lips together. Liane lets out a quiet sigh after they pull away and buries her face in his neck.
