"Okay, so we can go to my flat first, if that's okay with you," Michael suggests after thinking about it for a bit on their way to his car.
"Why?" Liane asks, turning to glance up at him.
"So you can put your stuff there until tomorrow, I guess?" He shrugs. "Unless you don't want to, that's fine too."
"No, that's okay, we can," she mumbles, shrugging as well. She was starting to feel the awkwardness she'd been dreading for the past few weeks, hoping Michael didn't feel it as well. While Michael puts her bags in the trunk of his car, she climbs into the passenger seat, closing the door after her.
"You're driving?" He asks teasingly after knocking on her window to get her to roll it down.
"What?" She gives him a confused smile, leaning tiredly against the door.
"You're on the driver's side, Li," he teases with a quiet laugh.
"Oh," she mouths, unbuckling her seatbelt and climbing over the middle. "Why is the driver's seat on that side? That's odd," she asks once he's in the car as well.
"You're odd." She pouts at him, crossing her arms chidishly. "Aw," he coos, "I'm kidding, you're adorable." She looks down at her hands at his comment, blushing deeply.
"How far away is your apartment from here?"
"Only, like, twenty minutes, I think," he shrugs, pulling away from the airport. "And it's called a flat in Australia," he states, faking intellegence.
"It's called a flat in Australia," she mocks, playing around with the radio. The rest of the car ride is filled with harmless bantering and a few awkward silences. "Sydney's really nice," she comments as the pair gets out of his car and goes to get her bags.
"Yeah, you should see it during the day," he smiles fondly, taking both of her bags.
"I can carry one, Mikey," she laughs quietly while following him to his door.
"No, you can't. I don't want you carrying them," he smiles down at her. "Can you get my keys? They're in my back pocket."
"Ew, I have touch your butt," she playfully scrunches up her face, holding back a laugh.
"Your lips just touched mine, and that wasn't a problem," he teases, making a quiet giggle break through her lips. "And don't worry, it'll happen more often." She gapes at him, sticking her hand in his back pocket and pulling out his keys.
"You nasty," she jokes while sticking the key in the key hole to unlock his front door.
"It's not nasty, kiss me again." He tries to kiss her but she quietly shrieks, running further into the dark flat. "That's offensive," he pouts before quietly closing the door.
"I love you, Mikey," she appears in front of him, kissing his nose lightly.
"Sure you do," he mimics, using one hand to nudge her face back up with his fingers, and the other to tug her closer to him by her waist before softly pressing his lips to hers. Liane smiles against his lips, responding to the kiss and placing her hands on his shoulders to push herself on her toes. "I can get used to that," he grins at her after pulling away and nudging his nose against hers.
"Or, I could just stop kissing you," she shrugs, stepping away from him and grabbing one of her bags.
"Ha, ha," he laughs dryly while fighting a smile. "Do you mind sleeping with me? 'Cause I can sleep on the couch, or - "
"It's fine, Mikey, I don't mind," she gives him a tired smile. "Lead the way."
