i spent so long loving the moon
her in all her nightly beauty
her stars glittered her skin
god did i love her
but the moon wasnt perfect
she tried to drown me in her waves
she tried to mask my pain with darkness
and tried to secure my abusers with a coat
i spent so long loving the moon
that i didn't see the pain
but finally the sun came round
and gave light to my scars
though the moon wasnt perfect
she taught a lesson
one that ill never forget
but never worry about again
i have the sun
his light guides me
the rays he shines
are bright and loving
i have the sun
for his love may waver
clouds arent masks to me
only colder times we can overcome
i have the sun
and no more moon
though i miss the nights
the days are warmer
