"I can't believe he did that and in public too," AD's dad exclaims after hearing what happened to Stephanie a few nights ago. "Good thing that you got there just in time, but moreover I'm saying that Stephanie should have just punch Omar in the face. Only if it wasn't in public," he sighs.
"I know, dad. We even joke about me hiring a hitman, but of course, it was a joke. Uncle Omar will get his karma."
"That's right, son," his mom says as she walks in, "Omar will get his karma sooner or later. I hope it's soon though. Anyway, I'm surprised you made an unexpected announcement at the party. A lot of the guests were shocked. Your father and I were bombarded with questions and if you ask me, you're still making headline news," she says casually.
"Well, it wasn't what I had in mind, but it happened."
"AD, your uncle and aunt are outside. They want to come in," one of his maids says.
"Let them," his father answers, "see what Omar has to say."
Sitting in the room full of tension, Omar feigns ignorance of the event that happened a few nights ago as he looks around his nephew's house. It is first time in here. Stephanie had fully caught his attention and he wanted her so much that he already has his secretary digging up information about her, but so far nothing that he can use to her disadvantage. In fact, he only came to visit his nephew just to irk him some more. After all, he's about to gain another woman that belongs to his nephew.
Seeing AD walking out of the living room, Ziva quietly excuses herself as she carries her cup of tea into the kitchen where AD is at. It's been so long since she last has seen and talked to him. She just wants to hear his voice again.
"She's beautiful AD."
"Thank you."
"Do you love her a lot?"
"I do."
"Does she treats you good?"
"Very."
"Then I'm happy."
"She's everything that you're not Ziva," he says in a low voice, "when I think about it you always made this wall between us even though we were in a relationship. I couldn't tell other men that you were my girlfriend or that we were engaged. Hell, you wouldn't even let me kiss you even though I was dying to kiss you. Not even a proper hug. Not even once."
"I'm sorry, AD."
"You were so afraid of being judged by your co-workers, superiors, and other people. I get that you're a supermodel and all eyes are on you, but it's the same with her. She the editorial assistant for a famous magazine. People know her left and right, yet she gives me permission to kiss and hug her. When she gets excited and happy over the littlest thing, she gets so lost in her own world that she loses her composure and jumps on me in front of people. She-she's beautiful both inside and out."
"I know," she says, "But AD trust me when I say that I wish I can turn back time to when we were together so that I can feel your genuine touch and warmth once. Just once. There are nights when I lay in bed in the coldness and I wonder how it would feel if it was you beside me. How does your touch feel? How your kiss will give me butterflies? When I think of all these things, I wished I didn't stop you from hugging or kissing me. I regretted building that tiny wall during our relationship. I don't know if it was that I was too conservative or if I was afraid of the public eye. But I do know that if I can turn back time, my only wish is to feel your warmth and touch."
"But we can't turn back time. You chose this for yourself Ziva. You chose my uncle over me and I learn about it in the most painful and unbearable way. Catching you two in bed, my bed, while having sex caused me great pain for the last few years. Heartbroken and shattered. Stephanie, she completes me. Even though I have only known her for these last four months spending time with her makes me happy that I wish the day never ends. When I don't see her for days or hear from her, I lose my patience and composure that I find the urge to go to her. She makes me lose my mind, it's a feeling I can't explain but I know for sure it's a feeling I have never experience being with you."
"You love her," Ziva says with a smile, "that's the feeling. Maybe, just maybe, I was just an infatuation. Or it could be that since we both grew up together, we thought we had a chance being together since most the adults around us always paired us together saying we make a good couple. So, we thought it would work because we let that get into our brains. Whatever, it was between us, I'm glad that you finally found one that you love. I'm happy that I'm the only with regrets because you're right I chose your uncle over you. I gave you much pain. You deserve so much better. Anyway, I'm glad to hear your voice one last time. The voice I miss the most. I don't know when I'll see you again, but I'm glad to see you're doing fine," she says before walking out of the kitchen.
"Ziva," he whispers but loud enough for her to hear and stop, "I'm sorry."
"Don't be, you have nothing to be sorry for. If anything, I'm sorry," she says knowing full well to what his apology is meant for.
