Chapter 6- A peak at the outside world

The next day Russia and America woke up and Russia was feeling much better. They checked the walkie talkie for any messages, but nothing. They tried talking to it in hope that someone would answear, but no luck.

R: Huh, weird
A:Yeah, I thought they were worried that we would kill eachother or somethin'
R:Me too. Do you think something happened?
A:Emm... I don't think so. I mean, what could have propably happened?
R: Yeah, you're right.

They looked at eachother for a moment and then Russia asked "So, what now?" America thought for a second and said "Em idk, I was planning on making breakfast and then reading some manga or something" Russia looked confused "M-Manga? What's that?" America gave him a surprised look "You've never heard of manga?!" "Em, n-no.." America grabbed Russia's wrist and took him to his bag. He searched his bag and took out two manga books and showed them to Russia. Russia took them and looked at the cover. "Oh, so you mean comics?" America grabbed the books from Russia's hands and said "What? No! They aren't comics!" Russia giggled "Aren't you a little old to read children's books?" America swinged the books in the air like he was about to hit Russia. Always with a smile on his face. "These aren't comics! They are...em.. do you know what anime is?" "Heard of it" "Well let's say it's that, but in a book" Russia smirked "So it's still a children's book" "RUSSIA I SWEAR TO GO-" America couldn't finish his sentence and started laughing. Russia laughed with him. Wow, his smile was really something. America didn't know why but he couldn't stop looking at him, amazed. Russia noticed that and immediately stopped laughing and put on his pale face, trying to hide the fact that he was embarrassed. He thought America found it weird that he laughed. A few moments passed and America slightly panicked, as he couldn't handle the akwardness. He took one of the mangas and offered it to Russia. "Do you wanna give it a shot? I promise I won't spoil anything" Russia looked quickly at America and then at the manga. "Em, sure. Why not" He took the manga and sat on bed. Then America came and sat next to him. Russia looked at him confused, slightly blushing. "What? I was planning on reading it again. Besides, you might have questions. You don't mind, do you?" Said America, also blushing. Russia thought for a second and then said with a happy tone "Not at all. Just tell me when to flip the page" he then made room for America. "Don't worry, I'm a fast reader! Flip it whenever you're ready" "If you say so" said Russia and flipped the first page.

The rest of the day went as expected. The two read the book and had a fairly good time. But let's see what's happening outside, ay? (Because that's the title of the chapter but anywaaays) It was the day Switzerland had to go to Russia's house. He wouldn't want to if Belarus wasn't there. He really liked her, even though she didn't get the best comments. He had a little bit of a crush on her, even if he had only met her once.

After a ten-minute walk from his house to Russia's he finally got there. The place was almost freezing and there was snow everywhere. Switzerland didn't except it to be so cold and he didn't bring a jacket with him so he was really cold. Last time he went there it was Summer and it was fairly warm, but now it was almost -20°C. He rushed to the door and knocked a few times. He was slightly jumping up and down, trying to warm up. A few moments later Ukraine opened the door. "Yes?" She said with a blank tone. "Eh, I-I need to inform you and Belarus ab-bout some important stuff, but c-can I please come in? I'm f-freezing" Ukraine just looked at him. From head to toe. "Juust a second" she said and closed the door at his face. 'Are you serious?I'm going to freeze over here!' he thought. At the other side of the door Ukraine was talking with Belarus.

B: What's going on? Who's at the door?
U: Швейцария (Switzerland).
B: What for?
U: He said he had something important to tell us, but that idiot didn't bring a jacket so he asked to come in.
B:And where is he..?
U:Outside
B:WHAT

Belarus quickly pushed Ukraine out the way and opened the door to see Switzerland shivering from the cold. She gasped and grabbed him inside. Ukraine gave her a weird look and closed the door behind her. She didn't really like interacting with other people except her siblings, but she was harsh to them too. Belarus sat Switzerland down on the cough and gave him a blanket. She then rushed to the other room and bringed a stove and started it up. She then sat next to him and checked his temperature. After a minute or two Switzerland was finally warm. She turned to Belarus and gave her a small smile. "Thanks.. I appreciate i-" "What were you thinking??" She looked angry but her voice sounded otherwise, like she was more worried than angry. Almost like a mum. "Eh? I-I" Switzerland didn't get to answear "Why did you come here without a jacket?? Or at least warm clothing?!" "I-I; the last time I came here i-it wasn't so cold!" Belarus sighed and looked away. "... How are you feeling now?" She looked at him again and said. "I'm.. okay I guess. Thanks again for helping me" Belarus changed her expression slightly, to a more calmer. "It's nothing, really. Besides I couldn't just leave you outside. Not just because of the cold, you wouldn't have die or anything. Because we're friends." Switzerland didn't get why she would say such thing, but then he got the point. She wanted to make sure they were friends but couldn't get herself to ask it. Switzerland said with a compationate tone "You know, you can just ask right away. It's not weird" She looked confused "Ask what?" "If we're friends. You said all that to make sure we were friends, right?" Belarus was embarrassed by the fact that he figured it out and turned away from him. Yes, she did want to make sure they were friends.She liked the guy but last time they met she didn't get the chance to ask him for his number or get them to hang out. She heard him chuckling and then felt an arm touching her shoulder. "It's alright! You don't need to be embarrassed. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be friends. Or.. showing emotions." He put his hand away. She turned around but didn't look at him. "I know there's nothing wrong with it, I just didn't want to ask you". "Why?". She didn't answear, or react at all. Like she didn't hear it. But Switzerland knew she did. "Do you want to talk about it?" Once Belarus heard him say that, she looked at him shocked. She wasn't expecting that at all. "I-I. No.". 'So she is hiding something! I knew it! But what though? What could have happened to her? I have to know' Switzerland thought. "Well, if you ever need someone to talk to, here is my number" he handed her a small piece of paper with his number on it. She took it and examined it. "Do you always carry one of these around?" She said. Switzerland started laughing and Belarus started giggling. "Well I-" "I imagine you having, like, twenty of these and just walking around and handing one of them to everyone you talk to" Switzerland almost fell down the cough from the laughter. Belarus was looking at him, laughing a little bit at the fact that he was nearly dying. She adored him. He was so full of life and energy, and that's what she liked so much about him. Suddenly Ukraine shouted from the other room "CAN YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP?! I'M TRYING TO WORK HERE". Belarus looked at her, a little annoyed. "Okay! Fine!". Switzerland stopped laughing and sat normally. "So, em, what are you here for again?" Belarus asked. "Well I had to inform you about some stuff. They are about Russia." Belarus's face paled when she heard that. Switzerland noticed. "Soooo, Russia had been missing for a few days and you guys didn't seem to know or notice. Just for your information, he is trapped underground because the experiment didn't go well" Belarus facepalmed herself "Oh my God that idiot!" Why what happened?" Asked Switzerland. "Well every time UN asks him for a favour something goes wrong! He could have prevented that! That's why we didn't look for him, we didn't think something like that would happene! We didn't know his life was in danger! And.. and he promised me that.. he would spend more time with me and Ukraine.." Belarus signed and looked down. And then, silence. Then she felt two warm arms wrapping around her. Was.. was it a hug? She had never received a hug from anyone except her sibling for decades. She looked at Switzerland. He was hugging her tightly, making sure she felt warm and comfortable. She looked at him straight in the eyes, something that most people would look at and back away. He didn't. He insisted and even hugged her tighter. Like he knew that Belarus wouldn't do anything to him. "Get the hell away from me!" Said Belarus in a way that was harsh, but not loud. Switzerland smiled "Oh c'mon, everybody likes hugs!". "I said, get off!" "No! Until you enjoy it!". What he was doing seemed stupid. "Fine then. Let's stay here forever." Switzerland giggled. He knew she would give in eventually. She just didn't want to admit that she liked it. Belarus tried to break the hug, but she couldn't. And eventually, she gave in. At the moment she did, she felt peaceful. Switzerland was so warm and cozy. She had never felt it before in a hug. Usually it was a small 'goodbye' hug or something similar, but that one was different. Special. It felt so nice that she could stay like this forever. Switzerland notished and was about to say something, but he figured it wouldn't be a good idea. They stopped hugging after about 5 minutes. They looked at eachother and smiled, both of them blushing. "So, I better get going" said Switzerland. "Yeah, it's getting late and the weather might get worse" replied Belarus in a sweat tone. Switzerland got up and headed for the door when Belarus stopped him and gave him a coat. "Oh, thanks. I'll give it back to you tomorrow." "You don't need to. It's one of Russia's old things that don't fit him anymore, so go ahead and keep it." Switzerland smiled at her. "Oh wow, a new jacket too? You and your family are full of surprises. Thank you once more!" "Hehe, it's nothing. Anyways, see you". "Oh, well. I- eh..I was thinking if maybe we could hang out sometime" Belarus's face light up. "Sure! Whenever you want!" "What about tomorrow?" "Okay. Are you able at 6?" "Yeah I am. I could pick you up from your house and then go to a restaurant or something" "That could be great. But don't tell me the name of the restaurant, I want you to surprise me" Switzerland giggled. "W-what so funny?" Said Belarus with a serious face. "Oh no, it's nothing. It just sounds more like a date rather than a simple hang-out". Belarus smiled at him and blushed but said nothing. Switzerland was about to say something but Belarus broke the silence. "Maybe it is" she said and gently closed the door before Switzerland could reply. He couldn't believe his ears. He was actually going out on a date with Belarus! He then gasped on the realisation. "YES!!! OMG YES!!", he started shouting. He didn't figure that Belarus could still hear him, but even if he knew he wouldn't care. He was happy and nothing could change that. He smiled at himself and started going his merry way back to his house.

Long time no see! Yes I know I took a long time to make a chapter but the chapters I make are big and I check them at least two times to make sure I don't do any mistakes (even though I sometimes do mistakes :')). So yeah, have patience! Also I think this chapter was kind of unique because it had almost nothing to do with Russia and America, but rather with Switzerland and Belarus (which I didn't actually plan to ship in this story, I just figured it would be a good idea to have another couple except Russia and America). And something else I wanted you people to know and it's a little important. I don't ship countries based on their real life history with eachother. I ship them based on their personality, like normal people. And that's why Switzerland X Belarus was created. Okay, I think that's it for now. See you on the next chapter!
