Everything was cold.
Syobai felt the water fill his lungs. He was unable to breathe as he felt down further, and further. His vision was beginning to blur as he continued to go down.
There was no way he could get back up to the surface. His arm was broken, and the rest of his broken was bruised and beaten after the crash. He would die by drowning.
Ah hell. Life could've been better, honestly. I don't care, death took long enough to come around.
Syobai closed his eyes, feeling his mind go blank. The curtain was being closed on the story of his life, the applause had died down, and all that's what left was the spotlights to be shut off.
Finally...
The gray eyed mans world went dark, and everything became quiet.
***
"...-ere you go, just hold on..."
Syobai groaned, his head rolling back as he eventually began coughing and choking. He felt his body being turned as he coughed up water.
" There, that's better," the other voice mumbled, eventually letting out a sigh," open your eyes."
The gray eyed man coughed, struggling to open his eyes. All he saw the bright rays of the hot sun, before he blinked and saw a face right in front of his.
It was a girl-...no, it was a girl, but she had silver gills on the sides of her face, as well as a long, silver tail.
" Wh...-"
" Don't talk to much, you nearly just drowned. You're lungs still aren't back to normal yet, so you should wait to talk until you're properly able to breathe again..." the girl said, blinking her cocoa brown like eyes.
Syobai stared ahead, beginning to cough again as formed a fist and hit his chest," Agh!"
The girl stared at him, sighing soon and closing her eyes before opening them.
The gray eyed man groaned, feeling pain shoot up through his entire body. He let out another groan, frowning soon.
" You're arm, is it supposed to look like that?" the girl asked, before jerking back once the man fell back, obviously having passed out from the pain.
" Back to stage one..."
***
" I think he's waking up!"
" Oh thank God!"
Syobai's eyes shot open when the voices grew louder. He immediately narrowed his eyes when he saw a few familiar faces.
" Void..." he muttered, balling a fist before wincing when he felt pain shoot up through his arm.
Emma just gave a gentle sigh, turning away before she just simply nodded.
Iroha tensed, her shoulders seeming to scrunch up," S-sorry! B-but I found you alongside the beach, you were unconscious..."
No shit, I nearly died. I honestly wish you had just left me there to rot.
" Right..." Syobai mumbled, sighing and looking away from the five.
" Well, get better," Iroha said quietly, quickly running out of the room with the other four following after the youngest Void.
Syobai sat in the hospital bed, staring at the cast on his arm in silence. He sighed eventually, before noticing something new.
There was a white jewel on a chain around his neck, as well as his normal gold chain. The jewel seemed to resemble a pearl.
