*Adam's pov
We just sat there Gabby sobbing and the guys staring. Gianna was unusually quiet, she always had a little piece of wisdom to share. Like she could read my mind she slipped her hand to my shoulder and rubbed it lightly, "why don't we take her back to the house. You guys can finish practice there if you like" she said softly. I nodded, I didn't know what else to do, I have to finish rehearsal but I need to be there for my daughter. We packed up and I carried Gabby to the car. I buckled her into the backseat of my car and followed Gianna and the guys home. I was driving even more cautiously than I ever had, even more than when my mom was in the car. I was the last to pull into the driveway and parked in the garage. I carried her into the house. "Be right back" I said and carried her upstairs. I laid her in one of the spare bedrooms and shut the door. I still can't believe my daughter, my 10 year old daughter, is laying in my spare room. I went back downstairs and sat with the guys. "Ready?" I asked. They stared, "Adam you have a daughter!" Matt said. "I know and now she's sleeping. Let's rehearse" I said. "Adam you need to deal with this. Her mother was kidnapped now you brought her home. What happens if she comes back? What if she doesn't?" James asked. "I don't know we're going to figure it out" I said. Gianna was sipping water quietly watching the exchange. I watched her, biting my lip. "Practice we'll talk later. I still need to wrap my head around this, and I'm sure you do too" she said and kissed me. "I'm going to write for a little bit and sort everything out." I nodded and kissed her long and hard, "you are the most amazing woman I've ever met" I said softly. We headed downstairs and practiced without much additional chatter.
"What now?" Mickey asked. "Time to go home and relax" I said after the two hour session. It was a good session, we were ready for tour. But was I? I wondered. "You know what I mean" Mickey said. "I know and right now I'm not sure, Gi and I have a lot to talk about and to figure out in a short amount of time." They nodded. "If you need something we've got your back" Sam said. "Thanks" I said and we went into the living room. "Is she still asleep?" I asked. Gianna looked up from the journal she was writing in, "yea I checked on her just a few minutes ago" she said and put the journal down. "Bye Gi" the guys said and she waved saying goodbye. I walked them out and sat beside her. "Gi" I started. "Did you love her?" She asked. That's what was bothering her, I knew there was something. "Tiffany?" I asked just to be sure. She nodded speechlessly. "No I didn't love her. I cared about her, but she was just a friend. We leaned on each other during a rough time. We had just gotten the okay to record a demo, a real demo but they hated the songs. I had to write new ones. Jane was still tearing my heart apart and it was hard. I turned to drugs until I met Tiffany, all of us did. I got closest with her. We slept together a few times and we learned about each other. Next thing I know she's gone and we got signed. My life took off and I never heard from her again" I replied. Gianna nodded still quiet. "What now?" She asked. "That's up to us" I said. She shook her head, "no it's up to you" she said. "No you are my wife, we are going to make this decision together" I said. She smiled, "okay then, what do you want to do?" She asked. "I'm not sure. But I do want to be a part of her life, even just a little bit. I told Tiffany that too." "Are you going to invoke your parental rights?" She asked. "I think I might. At least while Tiffany is gone. If she doesn't want me in her life afterward then I won't be. It'll be hard but I'll do as she asks. And when Gabby is 18 she can decide if she wants to see me. I'll still help her out either way. I'm going to support her I feel guilty I haven't the past 10 years." I looked at her, "does that bother you?" I asked.
She looked at me a moment before speaking, "no. I want you to be a part of her life. And I want her to stay here until this is all sorted out. She's your daughter and I respect that. But what if something happens to Tiffany? What then?" She asked. I looked down, I didn't want to consider it, "if something happens we'll deal with it when it happens" I said. "What about tour?" She asked. "She'll stay here. I mean unless she wants to go back to stay with her grandparents. I'm sure they're still alive. Tiffany didn't mention them though" I said thinking. She nodded and kissed me. "If something happens, take her in. She should be with her father." It was a simple request but one that would ultimately change our lives forever. I pulled her close and kissed her. "You are the most thoughtful woman in the world. But I can't do that lightly. That will change everything. If during this time we have her you truly start to care about her and something happens then yes. If you're asking me to take her in to ease my mind about where she'd go, and you don't care about her like she's your own I can't do that. This is a big decision but I don't want you to feel like I'm pushing her on you. I know this is hard to handle and I know you're uncomfortable, I can see it. If and when that changes then I'll take her in." Her eyes filled with tears, "you are perfect. But you would give up your daughter? You would give up your rights to her for me?" "Yes. If you asked me too" I said. "I would never. No matter how insecure I am, and I would expect you to fight for your daughter. It's awkward now but we'll get used to it. Never give up on that little girl" She said pointing to the stairs.
Gabby came down then. "Adam" she said her voice thick with tears, "have you heard anything?" She asked. I shook my head, "not yet." She nodded and turned to go. "Hey Gabby" Gianna said shocking us both. "You don't have to stay locked up in there. This is your house too, for the time being. Your welcome to anything here" she said. Gabby nodded and stood there shifting her weight. "How about dinner?" Gi asked. She nodded. "What would you like? We can order something. Our house keeper took the night off to see her sister." She looked shocked. "Um pizza?" She said softly. "Perfect I'll go order. What kind would you like?" She asked. "Cheese" she whispered. Gianna smiled and headed off to the kitchen to order. "Have a seat" I said patting the seat next to me where Gianna was. "I'm okay" she said. "Sit Gabby" I said. She sat suddenly and looked at her hands. "Listen I know this is crazy and stressful but you are welcome here." She nodded. "Do you want to talk about it?" I asked. "What's gonna happen now?" She asked. "Well for now I would like it if you stayed here. Just until this... Situation.... Is sorted out" I said. "And after that?" She asked. "Well when your mom gets back we can work that out. I hope I can still see you. If your mom and you want." She nodded, "I'd really like that" she smiled showing her dimple just like mine. I smiled brightly. "And if she doesn't?" She asked worried. "Let's not talk about that. Be positive" I said and hugged her. She hugged me tight and it felt amazing to hold her in my arms. I may have just met her, but she's my daughter and it felt so natural.
*Gianna's pov
I walked in seeing them together. It was a beautiful sight. I sat on the arm of the couch behind Adam, my hand on his shoulder. He looked up and smiled. He was right, this is going to change everything. "Adam, you're going on tour right?" Gabby asked. "Yes I leave in 3 days" he said. "So then what happens?" She asked. "Well, you'll stay with me" I said. She looked up at me then at Adam and nodded. She seemed nervous but oddly comfortable with Adam. That's understandable, he has a very soothing presence, it's why I was so open with him so easily. "You'll have fun with Gianna. She's the best. And you can come to the New Hampshire show. Then we'll go to Boston to see Gianna's family" he explained. Gabby nodded and looked around. "Hey sweetie do you want to borrow something to sleep in? We can go get your stuff tomorrow" I said. She shook her head, "we didn't have any baggage. We weren't planning on being long today. I was just going to tell Adam and talk for a while and go home" she said. "Well then why don't you borrow something for tonight and tomorrow we can go to the store and pick up a few things, just until mom comes back" I offered. Gabby nodded, "I'd like that" she said softly. Such a polite girl, I thought. We turned on the tv and relaxed while we waited for the pizza. It was an easy going night, my favorite kind of night. But would it last?
