I walk into the mansion with Toby. Everyone looks up, surprised.
"Yaela...?" says Slenderman.
I stand up as straight as I can. "I've decided that I'm going to be straight with all of you - if you let me stay, of course."
"Yes, you can stay," says Slenderman.
I deflate slightly. "Thank goodness. They were close." I take a deep breath, and say quickly, "I'm the daughter of the Moon and Shadows and Mother Father and Aunie want me in the war so I've been running for a long time, I've hidden for a while so that people wouldn't rat me out."
Everyone stares at me for the longest time. Finally, Toby tugs my hand and leads me upstairs.
"See you tomorrow," he says with a kiss on my cheek.
"See you tomorrow," I say, smiling. I give him a kiss on his cheek and then walk into my room and fall asleep on my bed, thankful to be back at the mansion.
