Poem #11: Body Parts

Before we got into making this poem we were handed a small worksheet which helps us describe our body parts which are: the feet, hair, brain, stomach, nose, and mind. And as we created the poem we could either choose one or all of them, I chose to do all of them.

My Body
This is my body, which is on my mind
Im not here to bring shame for its unkind
I love my body like its someone else
Each one with personalities that I assigned

Starting at the top, you see my hair
She was born blond and curly, but no one cares
In illustrations she has a streak of pink
And wanted to keep the color she used to wear

We move to the inside, meet the brain
Wanting to know real history is a big pain
They rather dance, draw, and watch games & movies
From this guy, there isnt much to gain

Head a tad downward, notice my eyes
A pair of twins, one observant, the other cries
Two peas in a pod, two halves of a mirror
And what they see might be a big surprise

Below the eyes, lays the nose
Who got picked on a lot as they grow
Nowadays, he collects many different scents
And gets picked on less, I suppose

Going back in, my stomach loves her sweets
She just wanna eats chocolate and other tasty treats
She's getting a bit fat, but that's perfectly fine
Be happy that they never bother you as she eats

Last but not least, my feet below
They can take a beating and never say no
These twins perfer to stay outside
Even through rough times, they're always on the go

This is my body, along with my mind
Please forgive me for wasting your time
Take this time to appreciate yourself
Before they suddenly get left behind
