Chapter 9: A Special Kind of Pokemon

The next morning I wake up nice and early, the gang and I were getting ready to travel! I decide to wake everyone up to work out a game plan.

"ASH GET YOUR ASS OUT OF BED!" He rattles awake, holding his ear.

"Jeez Val, next time could you be a bit louder? I couldn't hear you." I giggle, apparently my yelling woke Misty and Brock up. We all assemble at our little makeshift table, to talk about where we are heading next.

"Hmmmmmm, Oh! I got it! See, pewter city isn't that far away, how about there?" Everyone looks at Brock. Not again...

"Really? My gym? I mean I don't mind, but ya know, I'm pretty good." Brock smirks.

"It's fine with me." Says ash. Misty just nods, signaling that she doesn't really care.

"Okay, then let's do it! Shall we start packing?" I ask. Everyone says yes, and we start gathering our things.

We hit the road about an hour and a half later. By then it's 9:15am. The time we spent walking was pretty much filled with small talk and things like that, until we came across it. It was a giant cave. Great

"Don't worry guys, I'm sure we'll be okay. Let's just pass through it... It'll be fine." Brock says, unsure of himself. We all nod and make our way into the cave. It's so beautiful! Yet scary at the same time. It's full off layers, (basically it gets deeper down with each layer, so layer one is the one that you first enter the cave into, and layer two is off to the side, deeper down into the cave, kind of like a ravine with layers. I have no clue if this makes sense to you all but just go with it) and pools of water. We all stare in awe for about five minutes. After we all snap back to reality, we start venturing forth.

"Guys! So back in cerulean city, I got a map with all of the places in the kanto region. Apparently this is the "deep down under cave."

"Wow, it goes deep alright." Says ash, hanging his head over the edge of the cave.

"Yea, apparently it holds a lot of mysterious pokemon! I hope I see some!" I say, looking up at ash.

"Me too!" Says misty.

"Hey Val, you should see if you could catch one." Says ash, smiling my way. I swear I just want to melt at that smile, it's so warm and comforting.

"Uhhhhh... Yea!" Is all I can manage to say without blushing. Just then a loud noise erupts, the ground shakes, and we all scream.

This totally couldn't be a-

"EARTHQUAKE!" Ash screams. He grabs onto me as the ground beneath us cracks, causing Ash and I to fall down, passing each layer of the cave, and going deeper as we go. We both land in a huge lake at the bottom of the cave. It's so dark.

"Ash!" I scream.

"Val!" He calls. We find eachother and swim out of the pool of water. I find my pokeballs floating along the edge of the water. I send Finn, Riolu, and Belle out, they seem okay. I take out my flashlight that I found in my bag that happened to fall onto the ground, and when I turned it on, I almost screamed. Hundreds of Noibats were hanging from the ledge of the cave. And I hate bats. Ash covers my mouth and motions me to shut up. I nod, and we continue walking.

The cave opens up into different pathways, and we just follow our instincts until we hit yet another dead end. This time I was sure I was gonna die.

"This isn't like the forest ash, this is a cave that could go on forever! We have no clue! We might die here." I start crying. There is so much I want to do, I don't want to die here.

"Hey Val, we'll make it out, and if we don't. We will always be together. The way I see it, we have two options. We can try to find a way out, or loose out minds together. I'm personally a fan of option 1, but it's up to you." Just as I'm about to answer, I hear a sound.
