Chapter Twenty-Seven: Dragon Scales

When I woke up, I felt something cold and hard. I was able to open eye eyes. And what I saw didn't really surprise me. I was in the castle cell. But where is Acnologia? "Look who's awake." I recognized that voice instantly. I looked to put to see my so-called husband. "Sleep well, my queen?" I rolled my eyes at his comment. "Let me go." Was all I said to him. "Is that all you have to say to me? We've been apart so long. I thought you would be more happy to see your knight and shining armor. But it seems like you rather see that dragon that snatches you." I gasped, which only made him give me a cold stare. "When I was woken up from the spell that bloody dragon cast on the entire kingdom. I ran into your bedchambers, to look for you. You weren't there. I sent guards to look for you inside the castle and out. And the day after I sent a search party to look for. When they did find you, do you even know what they told me what they saw? Well, do you?" He asked me. He was wearing an emotionless face but, the tone of his voice. He was trying to hide his anger, but he was slowly losing his grip on his anger. "Guessing on how quite you're being, you know exactly what they saw." Fear was rising in me. Fear for my life, fear for Acnologia, but most importantly. The fear of my child's life.

"They saw you with that dragon. Happy. While I was here, worrying he kidnapped you and torturing you. But it seems to me that you went with him willingly." He banged his fist against the cell bars. Making me jump, he finally snapped. "How do you think that looks for me?! That my own wife had an affair! And not just any affair! You had an affair with a dragon! A monster!" I snapped back, "Yes, I did have an affair with a dragon! And I don't care! He made me the happiest woman alive! He's more of a man than you'll ever be! I love him!" He banged his fist again, cutting me off. "Shut up! Just shut the hell up! You wench! Prepare yourself for tomorrow. You have a big day and so does your so-called dragon mate." With those words, he left. Where is Acnologia? Are you even alive? You promise to come back for me, for us. How can I raise our child with you? Please still be alive and well Acnologia. Dear lord please, still be alive.

ACNOLOGIA'S P.O.V:

My body was in serious pain. They got me good, basically, they ambush me with more people. Once I got outside. I can only pray that Irene was able to get away. I heard footsteps coming my way. Seems like I'm getting an audience. "Well, well, well. It's the home wrecker." I chuckled at his words. I didn't bother looking up, spreading knowing it was Irene's so-called husband. "Well, that may be true. At least she was happy for once in her in life, and I do mean truly happy. I did that. And what are you to her?" I asked with a smirk plastered on my face. "An unavoidable irritation ." He banged his fist against the cell bars, I chuckled at his actions. "Shut the hell up. I wouldn't be laughing if I were you. Especially since I have my wife back." I stopped laughing. Once I stopped, that made him smirk. That bastard, he has Irene. He must've chased after her while I was fighting his soldiers. Coward, you would think you fight the man who took your wife. Well, I should say ex-wife. She's mine now. She's have always been mine and I'm not giving her back. Irene, I'm sorry. I failed you and our baby. "That seems to shut you up." "Let her go," I muttered. "What was that? Didn't hear from you." "I said, LET HER GO! YOUR FIGHT IS WITH ME NOT HER! SO LET HER GO! PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU! You beat me, torture me, starve me, but for the love God! DON'T TOUCH HER!" He looked totally shocked at my outburst. "You really love her don't you?" He muttered I don't think he meant to say that out loud. But I answered it anyway, "Yes, more than you can imagine."

He leaned against the cells, "Now, here's what's going to happen. Tomorrow, I'm going to have the day spent with Irene, while you wait for your execution. Once it's time for your death sentence, Irene and I will be watching front rode seats." My eyes went wide. Oh no. "No, please don't." He glanced at with a little smile of satisfaction, "Oh, begging for your life are now we?" He asked. "No, you don't understand. I don't want Irene to see something like that, please don't make her watch." "And why shouldn't I? I think it's a great punishment for her. Seeing the love of her life die right in front of her eyes." "You can't," I whispered. If she's me dead, who knows what would happen. How it would affect her? I can't et the same thing that happens to me, happen to her. Or everything will go up in flames.

IRENE'S P.O.V:

It was the next day. I was allowed out of my cell and into my old bedchambers. My husband told me we're going to talk and later he has a surprise for me. I wonder what it is. I don't have a good feeling about it though. "Dear Irene, you're awake finally." I turned around to see my husband with a smug look on his face. "Did you sleep well?" "No, since I was forced to sleep in the dungeon." He laughed at my answer. "Well, today will be better. I promise." He reached his hand for me to take. I just slapped it away. "That won't be necessary. Just let me go." I said walking past him. "But Acnologia is surprised, you know." I turned around so fast. Acnologia, he's here? "Oh, did you think that night we captured you? We didn't capture Acnologia?" He walked up to me and grabbed my chin so I can look up at me. "Did you really underestimate me, my dear Irene?"
