Chapter 37: A Happy Ending?

Natsu's P.O.V:

Everyone was fighting Acnologia. Acnologia was struggling, he's trying to fight back but can't. Not when his mate and child are there. He can't fight with full force.
Zeref is starting to get impatient. He's waiting on the right moment to strike.

"Natsu." He called my name.

I turned and faced him, "Yes brother?"

"Join the fight. It's much longer than I expected. But don't kill him, I want that satisfaction to myself." He smirked at me.

I nodded my head and charged with full force.

Acnologia's P.O.V:

Damn it! There's too many of them. I have to get Irene and our daughter out of here so we can talk. I never expected Irene to join Zeref. That was the last person I thought she would join. Seems a lot has changed for the past decades. Erza, I have heard the name before. She's known as Titania, queen of fairies. If I had known she was my child, I would have been searching for her. We could've been a family if it wasn't for my mistake all those years ago. This is my fault. My wife, my child, they hate me and I don't blame them. But I must explain to them what happened. I just need the opportunity.

In the corner of eye, I saw that demon who was standing next to Zeref, run to me. Damn, I don't have time for this!

The little demon ran up my arm and kicked my face knocking me off my feet. He's much stronger than the others. I was able to smack him mid-air, knocking him down to the ground. I quickly grabbed Irene and Erza and took off. I could hear them and their friends calling for them. I looked back to see Zeref. He was just standing there, not doing anything. Not even making a tempt to follow us.

I know he got something planned but I'll worry about it later, right now. I need to get my family somewhere we can talk.

Zeref's P.O.V:

"You're just going to let him take them away?!" I looked over to see Gray marching to me. His fist was clenched and his knuckles were turning white. Natsu stepped in front of me, standing between me and the ice mage.

"Don't worry, this is all part of the plan," I told him.

"Really or you just winging it right now?"

"I don't know, don't ask me. Ask the author, she's writing this story. I'm just doing whatever she types." (I'm totally winging it right now)

Gray rolled his eyes, "Oh please, I bet you have no idea what you're doing right now. You've been cursed for over decades and you officially lost your mind. Do you even have a real reason why you killed Mavis your wife? Or your son, your flesh and blood?! Do you even care that you killed them? Or were they pawns in this sick games of your's?"

Before I could even notice what I was doing, I raised one of my hands. Pointing my palm at Gray, right when I was about to cast a spell, Natsu grabbed my hand.

"Brother."

His voice made me snap out of it. I looked back at Gray, he didn't even flinch.

"Gray, don't talk to my brother like that. You have no idea what he has been through." Natsu said.

Gray just grunted and stormed off.

"Zeref," Natsu whispered, "are you sure you know what you are doing?" He asked.

I chuckled, "of course Natsu. I know what I'm doing. Don't let that idiotic mage ever doubt me." I said darkly.

He nodded his head in shame. Gray will not come between my brother and me. How dare he talk about my wife and child. He has no idea the pain I endure all of these years. I went through hell and back to get my revenge on Acnologia. I waited too long for this day and I need my brother by my side. If this boy becomes a problem. I will make sure to personally take care of him.
