The Beginning of the Fourth Heir

Chapter 4

Riyui continued her journey until she found herself in Magnolia in the Kingdom of Fiore. She was tired and a bit hungry when a scream caught her attention. She saw a short-haired woman being harrassed by some rowdy-looking wizards. 

"Let go of me!" Kinana said as she tries to pry herself loose but the male wizards had a tight grip on her arm. Yui-chan approached them rather menacingly and drew out her short sword. The wizards were looking at the little girl who seems to challenge them with her killer stare and stance.

"Hey kid! What are you looking at, huh?" one of the lot asked.

"Let go of her and I promise I'll spare your faces." Yui-chan threatened. However, the wizards laughed at her. This made her angry.

"Haha! That's a good one. What are you gonna do?" the second wizard teased. But when they saw the murderous look in the girl's eyes, their conviction seems to fade away. 

"One thing I hate the most is men harrassing defenseless and innocent women. That's what began to tick me off. I better start praying if I were you." Yui-chan said and her yokai self took over. Her yokai aura was overwhelming thus with a swift stroke of her shortsword, she was able to give them an unruly barber's treatment. 

"Get your asses out of here. And don't come back!" Yokai Yui-chan said and the men complied. They left and our heroine returned to her human form.

"Onee-chan, are you okay?" she asked. Kinana nodded and thanked her profusely. All of a sudden, Yui-chan fainted. Good thing, Kinana was able to catch her.

"Oh my god! Are you okay? Hey!" Kinana spoke as she carried the girl back to the guildbase. Upon arrival, Natsu and the others were surprised to see Kinana's worried face and the girl in her arms. Mirajane, an S-class wizard, rushed to her and told her to bring her upstairs. 

After an hour, Yui-chan woke up. She tried to sit up but the effort cost her. Wendy used her healing abilities and our heroine is as good as new.

"What...happened?" she asked.

"Kinana-chan saw you faint on the road so she decided to bring you here to our guildbase. By the way, I'm Mirajane Strauss. And this is Wendy Marvel. We're wizards from Fairy Tail." she introduced.

"Hello. I'm Yui of the Bakeneko Clan. Nice to meet you." Yui-chan said. 

The Fairy Tail guild members welcomed her. The guild master Makarov Dreyer stepped forward. Everyone quieted down. 

"So, you're the one who saved Kinana from a bunch of rogue wizards, eh? As the guild master of Fairy Tail, I thank you for saving her. We could use a strong kid like you in our guild. So, what do you say, Yui? Wanna be a part of Fairy Tail?" Makarov asked. Our heroine didn't have any second thoughts. She said yes right away.

"Yoshii! Everyone, let's give a warm welcome to our new recruit!" Mirajane said.

"PARTY!!!!!" everyone screamed. Yui-chan was happy that she got accepted as a guild member. She joined Team Fairy Tail whose members are Natsu Dragneel, a Dragon Slayer; Erza Scarlet, also known as Fairy Queen Titania; Gray Fullbuster,an Ice Make wizard; Lucy Heartfilia, a Celestial Mage; Happy, an Exceed; Wendy Marvel, another Dragon Slayer; and Carla, an Exceed. Natsu was given the task of teaching Yui Fire Magic along with a boy named Jerriel.

After 3 months of training, Yui-chan became one of the strongest wizards of Fairy Tail. Her ability to use Elemental Magic (she's able to use four elements) makes her a force to be reckoned with during battle. The other guilds try to steal her away from Fairy Tail but the young wizard didn't falter. She stayed with her guild for four years.

On her 12th birthday, Yui sensed a familiar but evil presence approaching Magnolia. She knows that aura too well. It's the Shikoto Yokai's Hachichuhakki Yakko (Night Parade of 88 demons).

"What's wrong, Yui-chan?" Erza asked. Yui ran outside of the guildbase and stood there to witness the horror unfold. The leader of the Shikoto Yokai was smiling but it didn't reached his eyes.

"There you are. I thought you're already dead." Tamazuki said. Yui was beyond horrified. For some reason, she couldn't move. That's when Natsu and the others came out.

"Hey punk! What business do you have with Yui-chan, huh?" Natsu asked.

"We're here to take her home. Her family is worried about her." Tamazuki replied. Lucy turned to the girl who is now shaking violently.

"Yui-chan? Are you okay?" she asked. 

"Everyone, stand back. He's mine." Yui-chan said and she transformed from a human to a yokai. Tamazuki was quite overwhelmed by the yokai aura. It's as if Yui has a Hyakki Yakko with her. This made the Shikoto Yokai leader uneasy. 

"Whoa. No need to get hostile, Yui. We just wanted you to come with us. Your family is waiting for you." he said. Yui drew out her shortsword and pointed it at Tamazuki's neck. Kagibari-Onna tried to attack her using her "Fear" but she was overwhelmed by our heroine's power.

"Who are you? How did you know my name?" she asked. 

"Why, I'm Tamazuki of the Shikoto Yokai. I'm here to help you regain your memories. Unless, you wanted otherwise." 

"You look familiar..." Yui spoke and then her mind flashed back. She knew this guy way back eight years ago. She remembered the man who ordered his subordinates to finish her off.

"You! You're the one who almost killed me!"

"That's right. And here I thought you're the weakest one in your family. It turns out you have an ability to heal any illness. And on top of that, you were born with  yokai blood. You're supposed to be a full-fledged human. But for some reason, you have a strong "Fear" within you. What are you?" he spoke. 

It took a while for Yui to answer. She was about to open her mouth when Makarov came and made Tamazuki fly using his magic.

"Master! Don't do anything hasty. These guys are no mere humans! They're yokai!" Yui warned. But Makarov didn't listen.

"If you intend to hurt one of my children, I won't let you come out of this town alive." he declared. Tamazuki knew he has no chance against Makarov so he left along with his entourage.
