Chapter 21

Since Riyui can't join the Kendo Club, she decided to be a part of the Drama Club. After class, she went to the auditorium where the Drama Club is having a meeting for their next show. Our heroine gulped loudly before making her way to the stage. In order to become a member of the club, she had to perform a simple scenario on the spot. While clutching her shortsword, she entered the stage and breathes slowly. When she was about to speak, several of the club members are already there. She became immediately nervous.

"Yoshi. Can you tell us your name, miss?" the club president asked in an amiable way. But Riyui couldn't utter a single word. She was trembling and was about to cry when Harada stepped in the stage while holding a katana and acting all cool. This irritated her.

"Ishikawa-kun, what are you doing there?"

"Clearly this girl has stage fright. Maybe I will do the interview from here." Harada said and smiled at Riyui with such gentleness that it made her relax. She even managed to smile back.

"Ishikawa-kun, thank you." Riyui whispered and Harada went to the backstage.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Riyui Nura from Class 2-A." she introduced.

"I see. So show us what you got."

Riyui played the role of a ninja princess whose clan got annihilated by her enemy. The spotlight is now on her as she internalizes her character. After a long while, she's no longer the person she think she is but Princess Shion. With her short sword, she knelt into the ground with one knee and raised her head slowly. Then she draws her sword out with such ferocity that the audience looked at her with awe. That's when Harada appeared.

"Bastard... I know you. You're the one who killed my family." she hissed. Harada laughed like a villain and pointed a katana at her neck.

"You should've stayed dead, princess. My job would've been easier." he said in a menacing manner.

"I can't die just yet. I have to avenge my clan! I won't let you stand in my way!" Riyui shouted a battle cry and the clash of swords started. The club president almost jumped in his seat because of the rush. When Harada disarmed her, she tried to ran for her sword but he easily grabbed her by the waist. He pulled her closer to him. She can feel her heart pounding.

"I have to kill you right now, you know. But I'm afraid I can't." he said with a regretful look. She was surprised to hear it.

"What do you mean? Are you toying with me?!" she shouted with frustrated tears on her face and she pushed him away. His expression looked pained.

"You don't remember me, princess? It's me, Hikaru. I'm your protector. But my master wants me to kill you. Do you have any idea how hard it is for me to kill the girl I love the most?"

"Wha-? What are you saying?! You're lying!" she shouted. Then he locked her in his embrace, much to her surprise.
