Finding Riyui

Chapter 13

After her team returns to Konoha, Riyui was thinking of training since she has to master Suiton style and Doton style. Jun is on the hospital while recovering. Though his injuries were serious, they weren't fatal. Nakago and Kakashi are doing fine as well.

One night, Riyui was sitting on the roof of her apartment while gazing at the sky. She was thinking of her life before she became like this. She was trying to remember the life she had back in the Nura Clan mansion. But no matter how hard she try, she still doesn't recall anything. She gave up and went back to her room. She opened a drawer and pulls out a notebook. She wrote her past mission as if it was happening to someone else rather than her. After writing, she went to bed to get some sleep.

The next day, Riyui went deep into the forests for her training. She picked the spot where there is a huge waterfall. She brought her scrolls and her shortsword along. But before she began her training, someone intruded and Riyui became alert. She slowly crept to where her shortsword is. She drew out her weapon right before Yuki revealed himself.

"Yui-sama, it's me!" he said. He raised his hand in surrender and got out of his hiding place with Bon trotting behind. 

"Yuki-kun! Jeez... you scared the living yokai out of me. So, what brings you here?" Riyui asked. Yuki and Bon looked at each other and fidgets.

"Uhm...Riyui-sama, we would like to join you in your training. That is, if you want to include us." Bon explained. Riyui smiled at this and held Bon's hands.

"Sure! Training alone seems a little boring. And besides, I need you and Yuki to help me perfect my Suiton and Doton Style jutsu. This is gonna be epic!!!!" Riyui screamed loud enough for the forest creatures to hear.

"Oh? Someone sure is fired up today." Sasuke and Naruto approached Riyui with smiles on their faces.

"Uchiha-sensei, Uzumaki-sensei, I thought you're back at the Academy. Can I help you with something?" Riyui asked.

"Well, we wanted to congratulate you on a job well done during your mission. And also, Lady Haruhi wanted you to have this. According to the message, it is a weapon she has made herself. Here." Sasuke said and gave her the missive and a beautiful katana with inscription on it.

"Good luck on your training, Riyui. See ya!"  Naruto spoke and the two left. Riyui smiled and opened the missive from Lady Haruhi. 

"Riyui-dono,

I cannot thank you enough for helping me keep the most valuable treasure of my ancestors. As token of my appreciation, please accept my gift. It is the blade that Father made when I was a child. The Hoshi no Tama knew of your arrival in my castle and the fact that I'm destined to become a member of your Hyakki Yakko. You're the blade's rightful master now. Please take good care of it. Who knows? Maybe it wil help you in your future battles.

P.S. I also forged some weapons for your comrades. I thank them for their courage and bravery to see the mission through."

"Lady Haruhi sure is thoughtful. I will treasure it. Hmm... I wonder where your weapons are." Riyui said.

"We already have them, milady. The village messenger came by to our house yesterday. You're a bit busy with that story of yours though." Bon answered. Riyui blushed.

"You've been snooping around while I was working? Bon! Don't tell Yuki about that." 

"So you're an author as well, Riyui-sama?" Yuki asked. Riyui didn't answer. Instead, she covered her already blushing face.

"Uhm...not exactly. I was just starting out as an author." she replied afterwards. 

"Uhm... we should probably start training if we want to get somewhere." Bon suggested. The other two agreed. Riyui decided she should learn Suiton first before Doton. 

"Milady, I believe Yuki can help you. According to some of the jonin and chuunin in the village, Yuki can use Suiton from time to time." Bon said.

"Well, that is true.  Shall we begin training, Riyui-sama?" Yuki asked. Riyui nodded and positioned herself in a fighting stance but Yuki shook his head.

"Riyui-sama, you must learn first how to harness the essence of water itself and channel it. Remember, water can be either your friend or your enemy. It depends on the usage of Suiton techniques. Now, what I'm going to teach you is a technique that requires you to let go of your painful past." Yuki explained. 

"My painful past? I don't think I have one, really. I have amnesia, remember? Even if the Hoshi no Tama showed me my past, I'm not really sure if that past was really mine." Riyui explained. Yuki nodded understandingly. 

"Riyui-sama, I think you're doubting yourself." 

"Do I have the reason to doubt myself, Yuki? The answer is yes. The one who defeated Lord Kise isn't me at all. It's...me but not me. It's kind of confusing sometimes. I don't know if I'm showing you the real me or another version of myself. I don't know. I'm having serious identity issues here, Yuki. I think we need to solve it first before I master Suiton and Doton." she ranted. Bon and Yuki stared at each other. Doubt finding its way into their mistress's heart doesn't sit well with them. So they grabbed her hand and took her deeper into the forest.

"Hey guys, where are we going?" she asked. 

"Self-discovery." Yuki answered. When they reached a cave, Bon use her Doton Style Jutsu and seals their mistress inside.

"What the-?! Hey! Get me out of here! I'm not joking, Bon." At this, Riyui became really scared. She dosen't know why she feared the dark in the first place. Then, she reminded herself that she has yokai blood in her veins. So she sat down on the ground and concentrate. 

"Long time no see." her yokai self emerge. Unlike her human form, her yokai form is a person full of confidence, not to mention beautiful and sexy. She's everything that Riyui wasn't in her human form.

"Hey." she replied softly. Yokai Riyui immediately sensed something was wrong with her human half.

"What's wrong? Why are you down in the dumps?" Yokai Riyui asked. It took her long enough to answer.

"Do you feel like there's another side to you that you can't accept? It makes me feel inferior somehow to have you here, that's all. It makes me feel weak. Damn, I can't even see myself with the other yokai who are members of the Nura Clan." 

"Oh sweetie, you're not weak. As far as I'm concern, you're the strongest girl I have ever seen. Who did embark on an adventure at the age of eight? You did. Who trained under Hagoromo-Gitsune and received the Fan of the Two-Tails? You did. Who became the first ever Elemental Wizard of Fairy Tail? You did. Who graduated as the top one in her class? You did. You did all of that without me. So don't mop around now just because you used my powers to defeat Lord Kise. Get your ass out of this cave and start training! The Chuunin Exams are two months away. You do want to pass that, don't you?" Yokai Riyui asked.

"Shimatta! I've been busy wallowing in self-pity, I almost forgot about that! I need to go!" Riyui said and ran back out of the cave. But before she left, she bowed to her yokai self as a sign of appreciation. 

Meanwhile, Yuki felt the change in their mistress's aura while she's inside. He motioned for Bon to undid the jutsu she used.

"Guys, we have some training to do." RIyui said proudly to her comrades. Yuki smiled.

"That's the spirit, Riyui-sama!" Yuki replied.

Riyui found herself in the midst of doubt and uncertainty. She knew she can do things that no one can. As days went by, Riyui became stronger. However, she has to face one of the toughest challenges in her life. Heaven knows how will she be able to face it.
