Chapter 8

After two years of studying, Yui and Bon are officially made genin. Yuki was happy for the both of them. Unexpectedly, Yui graduated with the highest honors from her batch. Fuyumi came in second.

"This isn't over! Now that we have become genin, I will defeat you in the Chuunin Exams. So, better get ready, Yui!" she said and left. 

"She sure is persistent, Yui-sama." Yuki remarked behind her back. Yui smiled at him.

"Oh come on, Yuki. You have to admit, she's really strong. She's a member of the Nara clan, after all. Anyway, did you deliver the message you were supposed to send?" she asked.

"No. It's better if they don't know you're still alive. Someone can use this opportunity to take control of the Nura Clan. Until you regain your memories, we will have no choice but to stay here in the Hidden Leaf."

"I see... hmmm... I wonder how things are back at the Nura Clan. Do they miss me?" Yui asked in a somber tone. Yuki understood the dilemma that his mistress goes through. Actually, he felt the same thing. The last time he has seen his older sister was ten years ago when he was sent on a mission to look for the missing granddaughter.

Meanwhile back at the Nura mansion, Wakana was looking at the old sakura tree on the back yard. She remembered the time when she and her daughter Riyui watch the petals fall gently. She remembers her sweet smile and the way she dances under the cherry blossom tree. Wakana couldn't stop herself from crying. It so happens that Kejoro passed by and saw her.

"Wakana-sama?" Kejoro called as she approached her mistress. Wakana wiped the tears off her face.

"You miss her, don't you?"

"Kejoro, it's been ten years since she was... I-I don't know if she's still alive somewhere or... I just... can't live like this anymore knowing my daughter is still out there probably on her own! I just can't live like this anymore." Wakana cried. On the conference room, Rikuo and Nurarihyon were having a conversation.

"It's been a decade since we lost her. I feel sorry for Mom. I wish I could do something about it." Rikuo said in a somber tone. Nurarihyon sighed and looked at the sakura tree at the backyard.

"Yes. But don't worry about her. She's a Nura after all. Maybe she has found her way back home but she needs to do one more thing." he said and gave his grandson a knowing smile.

"What do you mean by 'one more thing'?" Rikuo asked.

"She needs to become stronger, even stronger than you are, perhaps. I just know it. From the very beginning, Riyui has the potential to be the greatest Supreme Commander the world has ever seen. But don't feel bad. One day, you'll understand what I'm talking about." Nurarihyon explained. Rikuo just sighed in defeat. He will never know what his grandfather meant. But he knows something. 

Back at the Hidden Leaf Village, Yui and her teammates Nakago Yamanaka and a guy named Jun Hyuuga met for the first time as  Team 7. As the only girl in the group, she's a bit nervous and lonely without Bon. However, Jun and Nakago treated her as one of the boys. So far, she managed to get along well with her teammates.

"Congratulations on becoming genin. I'm your teacher, Hatake Kakashi. Sasuke is one of my students. Oh, and it seems we have a talented student in our group. Welcome to Team 7." he said.

So the team was given their first mission: retrieve the long-lost cat. Being associated with the Bakeneko Clan for years, Yui knows exactly what to do. 

"Are you sure about this, Yui?" Jun asked.

"Of course. Ryota-Neko and I used to do this when I was little." Yui replied while holding a catnip. When the cat is at their sight, she waved the catnip at the cute neko's face until it was attracted to it. That's when Jun and Nakago captured the cat. It gave them a run for their money though but they managed to get the job done. They turned over the cat to its owner. 

"Thank you, dears." the cat owner said and left. Jun and Nakago are full of scratches on their faces and arms. Yui was giggling as she stared at her teammates. 

"Haruhi-sama, do you think she's the one?"

"Yes. The Hoshi no Tama has chosen her to be my next Supreme Commander. I can tell that she has incredible power within her."

Three weeks after Yui became a genin, her team was called in to the office of the Hokage. Apparently, she has a mission for them but not like any other mission they have encountered in the past. 

"Yui, you and your team are assigned to guard a royal family treasure of the Land of Moon. Under no circumstances you must fail this mission. This is an A-rank mission, people. If you fail, I'm afraid you're going back to the Academy. Is that clear?" Master Tsunade said.

"Understood. We'll be heading to the Land of Moon immediately." Kakashi said. After a day has passed, they set out on a journey to the Land of the Moon where the feudal lord, Lady Haruhi is waiting for them along with the Ookami Clan. Little do they know, the Ookami Clan are composed of Ookami or wolf yokai. When they arrived, Yui felt something strange. It seems that something is amiss but she can't figure out what is the reason. 

When they reached the room containing the Hoshi no Tama, Yui felt something strange. It's as if she's no longer inside the room, but far away. She saw the Nura Clan Mansion and a little girl about four years old. It turns out it was her eight years ago. She's with a man with black hair and a little boy with two-toned hair. The man was the late Second Heir while the boy is Rikuo, the Young Master. She saw the girl ran past her and the little boy chasing her.

"Riyui-chan! Wait up!" four-year old Rikuo called. The Second Heir walked past her and looks at her direction. He smiled at her, making Yui confused. The man was familiar to her and yet, she couldn't tell his relationship with her.

"You've grown up, Riyui. I bet you will become the greatest Supreme Commander for the world to see. I have faith in you." Rihan said. Then all of a sudden, it came back to her. Her life before she was adopted to the Bakeneko Clan, it came back to her. Her head throbbed with pain, and an ear-piercing scream was heard. 

"Yui! Snap out of it! Yui!" Nakago shouted while shaking her. Kakashi used his Sharingan on her and it seems it worked because she starts to calm down. Yui lost her consciousness. Lady Haruhi and her attendant rushes to the scene and sees the unconscious girl.

"What happened?" Lady Haruhi asked. 

"I don't know..." Kakashi whispered.

The Hoshi no Tama ceased to glow when Lady Haruhi laid her eyes on it. She then knew that Yui must have looked inside the ball and saw something. She shook the thoughts off her head and called her lady-in-waiting.

"You called, milady?" she asked.

"Take this girl to my room. I will see to it that she get healed. Until then, no one shall disturb me." Lady Haruhi ordered. Nakago and Jun brought their unconscious comrade to Lady Haruhi's room and when she closed the door behind her, the two sat on the floor while waiting for news about Yui.
