i remember counting
the hundreds of
purple and green
yellow and blue
polka dots on the
temple of my body.
i remember emptying
millions of bottles of
foundation and concealer
just to cover the design
you had laid on me.
months of torture,
months of hiding,
months of lying
to everyone around me.
and the final day
of the man that
changed the skin tone
in a select few areas
was maybe the most
horrifying yet relieving
day of my life.
