"charlotte you cant listen to him okay? you did nothing at all wrong," penelope reassured charlotte.

they walked back from the park slowly, charlotte hadn't said a word. she felt completely humiliated and ashamed for hurting paul even though she had to do what was best for her.

john, george and richard soon caught up with the two, richard quickly putting an arm over charlottes shoulder.

she grabbed his hand and took it off her, "would you stop babying me, i hurt paul, it's only understandable that his friends aren't going to be my biggest fans."

"but he humiliated you just then, as much as we can be sad for paul, you'd barely started dating and you're our friend now too. penelope doesn't mind sharing do ya?" george said grinning cheekily.

"of course not," penelope smiled gratefully at george.

"goodness stu was so mean about you and john too, i'm so sorry," she looked at john with pleading eyes.

"stu just doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut, he didn't mean what he said, you can't take it personally. you have nothing to be sorry for," john said offering her a small smile.

"thank you, but now i've gone and caused a tiff in your guys' friendship and i hate that," charlotte said feeling guilty.

"nah, we're all good, he'll get over it, so will paul," john reassured her.

penelope couldn't be more appreciative of this boy in front of her.

charlotte just nodded her head, "where are you girls headed now then?" richard asked.

they all walked in a group, john and george stood in the road walking, meanwhile richard penelope and charlotte walked on the pavement.

"we haven't thought that far ahead," penelope chuckled.

"we could go back to mine? i mean my parents have gone up to scotland to visit my uncle so i have a free house for a few days," charlotte offered.

in which richard and penelope both eagerly agreed.

"oh my god, you guys are in for a hell of a surprise when you see where she lives," penelope said to george and john excitedly. george and john exchanged curious looks and started following charlotte back to her house.

they turned into an unfamiliar street after about twenty minutes of walking.

the street was occupied by some of the largest houses george and john had ever seen.

they felt almost out of place walking alongside them.

charlotte stopped in front of a huge metal gate, she pushed it open and walked in turning to the people behind her, "well are you coming?"

penelope and richard exchanged amused looks at the reaction off george and john.

charlottes house had a long pathway up to her house through the middle of her front garden.
