penelope

it had been one whole week since penelope had seen john or charlotte.

charlotte was penelopes main priority at this moment in time, john had tried several times to see and talk to penelope but she wasn't allowing it. caleb had stayed with penelope for the week minus the nights and kept her company. she told him all of what had happened and caleb had comforted her in her time of need. he understood why charlotte was upset but knew that whenever penelope managed to get to her and explain everything - charlotte would understand. he also understood why penelope was upset with john, he'd betrayed her trust over something she'd made very clear no one else could know about, but john didn't mean it maliciously or to hurt penelope and deep down she knew it too.

john had came round to her apartment a total of four times to try and talk to her but each time she either ignored it or caleb would open the door. the conversation often went along the lines of this;

"john she just needs a bit more time."

"tell her i'm sorry."

"she knows."

"why won't she talk to me?"

"she can't forgive you until charlotte forgives her."

"okay. sorry again caleb, i didn't mean for this to happen."

"i know mate don't worry about it."

john was always very understanding and he never pushed for anything which penelope admired. even with his stupid ways and blabber mouth, she still adored him. of course she did, she wouldn't just fall out of love with him.

currently penelope sat at her kitchen table waiting for caleb to show up. she'd not left her home all week, she'd tried calling charlotte several times every day but her calls either didn't go through or simply weren't answered. so when knocks were heard from her front door penelope instantly assumed it was caleb and was shocked to find an equally dishevelled charlotte on the other side.

charlotte looked much less angry - just tired and sad now. penelope almost broke down right there for making her best friend feel so low.

"charlotte," penelope whispered.

"are you gonna invite me in then?" charlotte joked clearly forcing it.

penelope stood still for a minute before nodding enthusiastically and moving to the side for her to walk in.

they both made their way into the kitchen, penelope tried to clear up the table but charlotte grabbed her wrist stopping her when she saw what was scattered over it.
