I sat on the porch. Movers moved boxes in the new house. "Hey, slugger," dad said, playfully punching my arm. "Wanna go explore around while your mom and I unpack a little?" I shrugged.
It was a normal thing for me to disappear for hours on end when we moved. We moved a lot. "Sure," I got up from my corner and jumped over the railing.
"There is a forest in the back if you wanna check that out," I nodded and left.
"I'll be back before sundown!" I yelled running into the woods.
The trees were thick and it was hard to not fall. I walked for miles just trying to find a little clearing. I began to hear rustling in the bush nearest me.
"Hello?" I called out stepping away from the bush. Whatever it was I didn't want to get hurt. A bunny hopped out of the bush. Its leg appeared to be caught in some sort of trap. I bent down and held my hand out. The small bunny jumped into my hand. I picked it up and pried the trap off. I set the small creature on the ground and it tried to hop away. It couldn't move. I grabbed the bunny. I stared into its eyes. Fear washed over the bunny's eyes. "It'll only hurt for a second," I said grabbing the bunny by the ears.
My ears started to ring. I shrugged it off. I finished what I started. I snapped the bunny's neck. The ringing stopped and I heard chuckling. I held the dead bunny in my hands.
"It would've been a lot more painful if I didn't do that," I mumbled to the bunny. I walked to a smaller tree and dug a hole. I laid the bunny in the hole. I laid a flower atop the grave.
I walked back home. The sun just set as I walked into the house. "You're back!" Mom said cheerfully.
"Yep," I walked to the kitchen sink. I ran the water and searched for soap. I rubbed my hands clean of anything the bunny could've left.
"How was the woods?" Dad asked setting a box next to the sink.
"It was nice. Very dense, but beautiful. Sadly I couldn't hit a clearing," I walked out of the kitchen.
"I put all your boxes in your room!" Mom yelled up the stairs.
"Thanks!" I yelled back. I opened my door. A bed and four boxes lay off the floor next to a packed closet.
I pushed the matress against the wall. I never had a bed frame or anything. Just a matress. I grew out of beds fast so mom and dad stopped bothering. I unpacked the four small boxes. I didn't have much. Just clothes and basic necessities. I made my bed and lied down. I started school tomorrow. I hated school. Sure I passed every class but it was the people. I stared at the ceiling. The ringing in my ears came back. I rolled over and tried to fall asleep.
"Sleep well, y/n," a deep voice said in my head. The ringing stopped. I shrugged it all off and fell asleep.
I woke up light blinding me. I looked at the time. I had an hour.
"Why does school start so late?" I groaned and got up. I walked to my closet. I pulled out a normal outfit, for me at least. I walked down stairs.
"Goodmorning sweety!" Mom said cheerfully.
"Morning," I grumbled.
"Want some waffles?" She asked setting a plate in front of me.
"Sure. I have time," I said looking at my phone clock. School didn't start for another 45 minutes. I finished my waffles and left. I walked down the street. School was only a mile away. I kept walking. I ignored the ringing and spots I seen and heard. I put my headphones on played music. I got to the front doors. I walked to the office.
"Hello, can I help you?" A friendly looking lady asked.
"I just moved here," I said looking around the office.
