You only wanted to protect me.
What the hell is going on?
I'm scared and lonely and exhausted.
Where is all this coming from?A steaming mug of black coffee sat on the table between them. The man drums his fingers on the table, looking Virgil up and down before letting out a loud sigh. He never had been fond of silence.
"So you are the new kid Remy found?" He paused, waiting for a response. Virgil bit his bottom lip, mind completely freaking out. What was happening? "Sure... then... what is your magic item?" Magic item? Was he talking about that shield which appeared or the bracelet or what? Nothing made any sense. The man sighed and leant back in his chair "Fine, then! Can you at least tell me your name?"
Virgil sat hunched over on the chair, breathing heavy. He had no idea what was happening. "Vi... Virgil" he stuttered out.
He'd electrocuted A. He'd electrocuted A. Oh fuck.
Holy shit, what the hell is going on? Why am I here? Who are these people and what do they want to do with me? And what does that annoyed looking guy have to do with whatever the hell is going on? Come on just breathe! Breathe! BREATHE!!
The guy leant back in his chair and let out a sigh "Wow... he really sucks at speaking, doesn't he?"
Remy hummed slightly as he walked across the room, taking a small sip from his drink before walking over and standing, arms crossed, behind where the guy was sat. "Maybe we should stop asking him too much. He's literally shaken up by those questions of yours." It wasn't a lie. Virgil was shaking so hard that his form had a slight blur around it.
"And by the way" Remy continued, taking a bite of the food which he had stolen from the kitchen the moment that they had arrived back at the place "didn't you bawl your eyes out the first time you used your item on someone, Roman?"
Roman glared "That was different ok?" He murmered quietly, narrowing his eyes towards Remy. Who did he think he was? Exposing him like that. "Oh, go fuck yourself Remy!"
Remy chuckled slightly 'nah that's Emile's job' he thought to himself before taking another bite, chewing slowly and swallowing. Roman was gonna get it now.
Smiling apologetically, Emile walked over to Virgil. Bless, he seemed absolutely terrified. Rightly so after what he went through.
"Just ignore them! And take a deep breath, okay?" He leant down so that he was closer to Virgil "You will be fine, I guarentee!" He couldn't truly promise that, after all he had no knowledge of what is going to happen in the future. None of them truly did. Not yet anyhow. Realising that the smile had begun to falter, Emile beamed once more towards Virgil. At the least he seemed to be calming down bit.
"I altered the bullies' memories, so, by the time they are awake, they won't remember anything! Even the pictures, too! It'll only be a matter of time before they're found!"
"Oh my god there's someone in the bush!" A was leant against a tree trunk, other bodies scattered around him. "Quick! Call 911!!!" Leaning down by the unconscious bodies, only one thing seemed to stand out. Whilst everyone was unresponsive, only one - leant with his back against a tree - showed scorch marks.
"I get it that we are strangers and you're scared. But I just want you to know that we genuinely want to help you, and that you can trust us in dealing with this magic stuff.."
Emile trailed off, plastering a large smile onto his face. He did genuinely want to help Virgil. The poor kid had been through so much shit already and he didn't deserve to have anything else happen to him. He knew that Remy had never understood his need to help everyone he met, but it was almost as though it was some sort of instinct which had embedded itself deep into his mind and heart. Plus, it felt good to help people! "So take your time, yeah?"
Virgil stared at Emile for a few moments, blinking slowly. Carefully, he let a small smile appear on his lips. He decided that he liked Emile.
The smiling man had been kind to him from the start, helping him up of the ground after doing who knows what to A's mind, calming him down, reassuring him. Remy had argued with Roman for the most part. One thing or another had been done wrong by one of the two, meaning that yet another debate broke out over who was in the wrong. Yet, despite all that, they seemed more the willing to die in order to protect one another.
"Uh... sure" Virgil replied quietly, quickly glancing around the room and going through what he'd already learnt.
Remy and Emile were going on apparently, had been for a while based on the way they acted around eachother. Roman had been taken in by them when he discovered he had.. magic. That word still didn't seem right. Magic. Anyway. A has had his mind wiped of the photos and the incident and everything.
A relief settled over Virgil. It was over. They'd forgotten everything about the photos and now... it was over.
"I.. I guess I do want to ask you some questions after all..."
"That would be amazing!" Emile chirped, clapping his hands excitedly together.
Roman shook his head and leant back against the sofa "he can make someone open up to him even without using his power... scary..." he shivered slightly, yelping as Remy whacked him around the head.
"He's my boyfriend, remember?" He smirked slightly and ate another bite of cake, leaning over the back of the chair on which Roman was sat. And he knew that he was damned lucky to have Emile as his boyfriend. Roman growled slightly and rubbed the back of his head, but smiled slightly as he watched Emile talking to Virgil. Yep. Rem really was lucky.
You only wanted to protect me,
Others like you are here.
But they are not a problem,
It's you that you should fear
