A/N ~ Thanks so much for staying with me (if you're still reading x)

You only wanted to protect me,
I should not of let you go.
You want to tell me about the powers.
Well I already know.Remy smiled and gripped Virgil's hand, helping him on his feet. "Glad to have you join us, kid, but I need to ask you about your... er, 'boyfriend'. Is that cool?"
A sharp pain appeared in Virgil's chest as the mention of Patton. How had he forgotten already? "Oh.. you mean Patton?"
"Yeah" Remy nodded "he seems to care about a lot about you. It's not like you find someone like that everyday." It certainly wasn't. It had taken a long time for Emile to come around, and Remy had been lucky then for him to even agree to go out with him. "Now that things are solved, I think you should find and tell him everything. Ya know, before it gets too late.."
Curled up on the floor of his living room, back pressed against the sofa, Patton wiped his nose and swiped through his photos. Virgil. Almost every single one contained Virgil somehow. Try as he might, he couldn't figure out what it might of been that had caused this.
He'd always tried his best, tried to make Virgil as happy as possible without being too clingy. Obviously he hadn't of been a very good boyfriend is Virgil just broke up with him like that.
Bringing his knees up to his chin, more tears spilled down his cheeks and onto the pillow which he had wedged between his legs and his chest. God, even that had been a present from Virgil.
"He still loves you so much" Remy smiled and gripped Virgil's hand, nodding "I can tell you that." Virgil looked down at the floor, tears rising in his eyes. And he still loved Patton. With all his heart he knew that he did, but surely by now Patton would have given up on him. He had to. Face hardening, he looked up to Remy and nodded. But at the least he had to try.
A knocking caused Patton to look up. What was someone doing here? He glanced at his phone clock. 8:30 pm. He wasn't expecting anyone-
"Patton! It's me Virgil-" his voice weakened slightly as he continued to knock. "Please open the door.."
Putting the pillow to the side of where he had been sat, Patton stood up and walked over to the door, wiping his tears away on his sleeve. Gently opening it, his heart caught as he took in the way the other looked. If he had thought his tears were bad, they were nothing compared to the trembling mess in front of him. "Virgil?"
Virgil's hand was still raised, prepared to knock, now frozen in position as he stared at Patton.
His eyes were shining, glimmering as the droplets caught the moonlight and left sliver streaks across his skin. His entire body was shaking, part from the cold and part from fear. Fear that Patton would still hate him. But he opened the door. He wouldn't of opened the door if he didn't want anything to do with him, surely?
"Oh, thank god!"
Rushing forward, more tears now falling onto Patton's shoulder, Virgil wrapped his arms around the man stood in front of him, sobs still rising in his chest. Oh thank god. Thank anyone. He didn't hate him.
"I was worried that you would hate me so bad after this! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry" he took a shaking breath "I was just so scared.. many things just... happened and..."
Another round of sobs came out of him. Patton didn't hate him. Slowly coming to terms with what had just happened, Patton wrapped his arms around Virgil, resting his own head into the others neck, his cheeks likewise stained.
"I still love you so much" Virgil mumbled into Patton's shoulder "and there's so much I want to tell you."
The trembling hadn't of stopped, but at the least it wasn't nearly as bad as it had been. He gripped his arms tighter around Patton as though this was all a dream and that the man he clung to was going to disappear into smoke and leave him alone again. He couldn't be alone again.
"I just need you to give me a chance.." Patton scrunched his eyes closed, tears stinging them and making it difficult to see. "Will that be ok?" Gently pulling away from Virgil, Patton wiped his face with the back of his hand. God of course it would be ok. Just the fact that Virgil was here, didn't actually want him to stay out of his life, was a dream.
Sat curled up on the floor, flicking through photo after photo of the dark persona on his phone, Patton had felt himself give up hope. It had been terrifying, coming to realise that you no longer believed that the person you loved could still love you.
"Fine, I will let you tell me everything. But promise me we're not hiding anything." Patton gripped Virgil's hands in his own. "Deal?"
Swallowing back another relieved sob, Virgil nodded. "Deal" he croaked out.
Smiling, Patton lifted a hand and wiped away some of the droplets that still clung to Virgil's skin. "Good. Now please come in. We need to wash your face first." Giving Virgil's hand a final squeeze, Patton watched as he smiled faintly at him and walked into the house, rubbing gently at his reddened eyes.
Folding his arms, Patton turned back towards the driveway that led up to the house.
Stood leaning against the gate, Roman moved a piece of hair out of his face, a faint smile on his face as he looked over at Patton. Pushing his hair clip back into his hair, Roman pushed off the gate and began to follow after Remy up the path.
Pushing his sunglasses back onto his face, having begun to slip down as he waited, Remy nodded once towards Patton, the gesture being returned.
"Thanks, Pat."
Now we can protect eachother,
I know what you know.
Welcome aboard, my love.
Let's see where we go.
