But it put you into danger,
This is all for your sake.~Flashback~
He felt the sobs rising in his throat, threatening to spill. They would be pouring down his face if the shock and the fear hadn't of kicked in and caused him to remain rooted where he stood. His bag had been discarded at the side of the hallway, haphazardly thrown at the bottom of a set of lockers, the contents now spilling onto the floor. Books and pens and random notepads piled on top of eachother as they all fought to escape the stuffy air of the bag; and now in the hands on the man in front of him, a set of photos.
They were they type you'd gain from one of those random photo booths, a string of 3 photos that depicted a day which Virgil had thought went well. Heck, Patton had even kissed him in the middle of the booth.
"Holy shit! Look what I got from his bag!" The guy called out. That sneering voice.
"Oh my god. No way! The popular Patton and the loser are actually dating each other?!" Someone else called out, taking the photos for a moment before handing them back to A.
That's what Virgil had always referred to the leader of this particular group as: A. Over time it had stood for many things, the main being asshole. But also it was easier for Virgil to think of him that was as it dehumanised him in a way; if he was going to make Virgil feel less then human through attacks both physical and verbal, then he was going to take away some sense of his identity. So he was just A. Anonymous. Asshole. But always A.
"Oh my fucking god!" Another voice joined the taunts, rising above the waves of laughter. "They even kissed in the photo booth? That's gay as hell!"
Shaking uncontrollably, eyes wide and breathing ragged, Virgil barely managed to choke out any words. "Guys please.." his voice was so quiet, so weak, that he couldn't hear it himself over the taunts and yells and slurs being thrown his way.
"I've known this guy was homo already, but Patton too? Damnnnn!"
He couldn't breathe. They kept on passing the photos around between them, each person making a new comment, a new attack, a new slur towards Patton. He couldn't breathe.
"Didn't he used to date some chicks as well? And now guys? What a fucking slut!"
"I knew well there's something wrong with him. No one could ever be that perfect!"
