She doesn't fill the void that I always feel. God she doesn't even come close to it, but he does. Of course he does. He always has. I try to push it away, but he comes in with his gorgeous smile and his beautiful blonde hair, and it's almost like I lose all control over myself.
He comes into the room and becomes the only thing I can really even focus on. He wasn't even here with us yet and he's all I can think about.
We were currently waiting for him to order our food at whatever restaurant we were in, but I didn't mind. I would wait for him for however long.
Jake waved his hand in front of my face snapping me out of the trance I was in. He looked at my curiously and I just shrugged.
"You've been in your own world recently Colby. What are you thinking about? Would it happened to be Sarah?" I cringed at the name. My supposed girlfriend whom I don't like, but use to forget about Sam. I know it's not right, but I doubt I could ever tell Sam I like him. Plus I don't think she likes me either so we are pretty even.
"No I've just had a lot on my mind recently." I said and Jake patted my shoulder as a friendly gesture to make me feel better, but it had no effect.
"If you need to talk, we are always here bro." Corey said from across the table. I smiled and looked down at my hands until I heard the door open. I looked over and saw him walking in, and I couldn't help but stare.
Jake nudged my shoulder lightly which caused me to look back at him. He smiled and leaned in to whisper in my ear.
"I know you want to keep it a secret, but you're practically drooling right now." He said while laughing. I frowned slightly, but immediately cheered up when Sam sat across from me.
"Hey guys! What are we talking about?" He asked in is usual joy filled voice.
"Just about how late you are. Also Colby's little crush." Jake said. I looked over suddenly and gave Jake the dirtiest look I could, which only caused him to smirk.
"What about Sarah?" He asked looking extremely disappointed. I didn't think he liked Sarah that much. He was actually usually very fake towards her.
"We are basically over with. Plus I don't think we should talk about it." I said trying to change the subject, but Jake couldn't keep his mouth shut.
"No Colby, tell them about the special boy." He said making sure that they knew it was definitely a guy. Sam perked up at the word and I knew it was because he had been openly gay for about a year now.
"Uh yeah, okay. I just, I don't know. I like him a lot and I have for a while. I just didn't have the guts to tell any of you. Jake only knows because I accidentally let it slip." I said as I shifted uncomfortably. Sam looked at me with what looked like mixed emotions.
"Tell is more, Colby. You got us interested." Corey said and I felt my body tending as the seconds passed.
"He had blonde hair, blue eyes, and the most beautiful smile I've ever seen. It's like every time he walks into a room, I feel like my whole day has been made 10x better. He just makes everyone happy and he always knows what to say to me when I'm upset. He's just perfect." I said rambling to the point where I was shocked with myself. Corey could plainly tell that it was Sam. Anyone could have known it was Sam, well except for Sam. He looked clueless.
"You should ask him out. I just happen to know that he feels the same way about you." Corey said winking over at me. I blushed deeply as Sam looked down at the table trying to figure out who it was.
"When should I do it?" I asked. Jake and Corey looked at each other knowingly. Jake looked toward me and I knew exactly what they were going to say. They didn't even have to say it before I made my move.
"Sam, could you go outside with me for a little?" He looked up almost surprised that I would ask that, even though we were best friends. He nodded and we got up to go outside.
"How do you feel about all this?" I asked as we leaned against the wall next to each other. Sam shrugged and looked up at the clouds.
"I always assumed you were gay or bi, but as for you liking someone, I'm just not sure who it is and how I will feel about it." He said biting his lip gently. I smiled and scooted closer to him.
"How should I ask him out?" Sam smiled lightly and put his hands in his pockets.
"Nothing super romantic. Unless he's into it, but I wouldn't want something like that. You know what? You should just ask him when you are together." I laughed lightly and turned to face him.
"That's perfect." I said and Sam looked down at his shoes as he turned toward me.
"So, Sam, will you go out with me?" He looked up at me shocked, but smiled nonetheless.
"I was the boy you were talking about?" I nodded and I couldn't get the smile that was plastered on my face to go away.
"Who else would I be talking about?" He hugged me tightly and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Is that a yes?" He let go and nodded, over exaggerating it.
"Of course. I mean I've only like you for like 5 years now. It's about time you asked." I laughed and stepped closer to him.
"Well then, is it okay if I do this?" I asked grabbing his chin gently and leaning in slowly. He nodded before I placed my lips on his in a passionate kiss.
He wrapped his arms around my neck as I pulled him closed by his hips. He pulled away only slightly and placed his forehead on mine.
"God, I wish you would of done that a lot sooner." He said making me laugh. I pecked his lips once more, causing him to blush.
"I wish I would have too." I whispered, but I was interrupted by two men cheering like children.
"It is about time." Jake said as he pulled Sam and I into a tight hug. Corey soon joined and we couldn't help but laugh at our group hug.
"You are both clueless, but I'm glad that you two finally are together." I hugged Sam's waist tightly and placed a light kiss against his forehead.
"So am I."
