Chapter 18

I rolled my eyes, "So... no. These people don't learn," I sighed and sent a glare at my door as a heavy German accent echoed through it. Telling me to get out of my room and join everyone in the basement to continuing training.

I grumbled angrily and got off my bed, glanced once more at my TV and trudged to the door.

"Keep your head up," I heard America tell me, "Don't look at your feet. Look up at me."

"What?" I asked, "No way, I don't want to trip!"

I heard a sighed came from him, I kept glancing down at my feet making sure I didn't fall when:

Thump!

"OW!"

I heard another sigh, "I told you not to look at your feet."

I looked up at him in betrayal, "You tripped me!"

I wasn't used to this man before me, he wasn't a cheerful carefree man who would smile and goof off all the time. Instead, he stood tall, no smile, next to no emotion in his eyes, his jacket hanging up on the wall. Staring right at me, "I'm your opponent. Not your friend."

I blinked in shock, I don't understand. He's not my opponent, he's my friend, family. I can't... hit him... that would be wrong. I stared back at him. I don't get it... I've been taught my whole life not to hurt my own family. So why do I have to do it now?

I pushed myself off the ground, I frowned and watched as he walked away. Curious I followed him. Next, to me, Sealand stood both of us listening in on the conversation.

"This isn't going well," America's voice whispered, "She thought I was serious. I could see it in her eyes."

"I know... I hate it," that was Italy, "I feel so bad!"

"We can't keep doing this," England sighed, "None of them are getting it."

"Don't blame them," Drago's voice suddenly spoke, "No matter how old they really are they are all still children compared to the rest of us."

"So then what do we do?" America whispered, "We can't just up and move again!"

"He's right," Germany finally came into the conversation, "If we go about it that way we will be moving for the rest of our lives."

I blinked, I could practically feel the anger coming off of Drago as she snapped, "Oh really? You mean, like what we're doing now? What we've been doing for the past what... 2 centuries?! I'm sorry, Germany, but this is getting ridicules. Had they not waken up everything would be fine! But now that they are awake in a world that has moved on without them, a world that has no history of them or us! ... They will lash out! And not just on us!"

"Drago!" Mr. United Nations' voice cut in, "Listen here-"

"No!" Drago hissed, "No you listen here! They only way they will ever go down is if they get to play their part in this world, our world, their world! It's been building up since day one! We all knew that one day they would wake up and now they have. We've been hiding for a long time. Sooner or later you will all realize that we will have to resurface. If it's a battle between us and them it will drag our nations into it and the entire world will be in nothing but Civil wars. Something needs to be done. We can't keep running more wars are gonna break out because we're not there to calm the problem. All we've been doing is running and look where it's gotten us. It has stressed us all out and pushed us to our limits. Running can no longer be an option."

I shifted to look into the room, everyone but the micro-nations, Liechtenstein, Latvia, and I wherein the meeting room. In her normal spot stood a female with her palms on the table, her long black hair held back in a ponytail, icy blue eyes stared straight at Mister United Nations. She stood up straight her head for once held high as if this speech wasn't the first time she had been able to speak in front of everyone.

Her words calm, eyes cut through everyone, and with her last words echoed through the room Sealand and I moved out of the way.

The sound of her sneakers got more and more muffled as she headed for her room. Not long after she left the meeting room, more left each agreeing with her:

Denmark.

Norway.

Finland.

America.

France.

Russia.

South Italy.

Spain.

Hungary.

Prussia.

Estonia.

Belgium.

Greece.

Turkey.

My eyes trailed to Sealand, as he whispered, "What do we do?"

I was silent for a long time, I soon closed my eyes and took a shaky breath, "We call a meeting of our own."

Within a matter of minutes, we sat in Sealand's room on the floor, talking in hushed voices about what was overheard. Every few minutes someone would come in to check up on us but would leave knowing just as much as they knew when they first came in. Suddenly standing up I left the room and walked to the park.

I didn't give Adrien and his modeling a second look, I didn't pay any mind to Mari and her fangirling. I sat down on a bench and looked around, not noticing that the temperature of the area was dropping.

Loud startled screams pulled me out of my trance, and I looked around. Ladybug and Chat Noir were in the park fighting one of the girls who wanted to be weather girls. I had a feeling this would happen.

I wanted to reach out and help them, but I couldn't. I stayed rooted. They thought of me as a mere citizen. Someone unable to really do a lot of help.

It's alright.

I blinked, I've heard the voice before...

Show the world your power.

The soft voice went on.

Hiding was never meant to be an option.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

You were all meant to protect the world... not hide from it.

"But... how?" I whispered, "How am I suppose to protect a world all by myself."

You don't have to do it alone.

Drago's words raced back to me, "Rules or not. I don't care. I don't care if you want to protect me. But it is not us who need protection. It's the world. And the only way to do that is to come out of hiding. Stand with me or not, I'm going to let the world know just who I am. I don't want them to bow to me, I want them to look to me for help. I used to have young children ask for my help with chores, and now my own home is so unfamiliar to me that can't find that capital without a map. That needs to change. So I'm coming clean, I'm going to show myself, I'm going to stand completely with my country again. Because my people need me."

Guys... guess who is really late...

If you guessed me, then you're right. I am.

I've been really distracted... I'm been playing Kingdom Hearts Union x(cross) so... yeah...

Blame my Kingdom Hearts addiction.

Welp,

ALL HAIL THE ALMIGHTY BURRITO!!!
