Loud startled screams pulled me out of my trance, and I looked around. Ladybug and Chat Noir were in the park fighting one of the girls who wanted to be weather girls. I had a feeling this would happen.
I wanted to reach out and help them, but I couldn't. I stayed rooted. They thought of me as a mere citizen. Someone unable to really do a lot of help.
It's alright.
I blinked, I've heard the voice before...
Show the world your power.
The soft voice went on.
Hiding was never meant to be an option.
I furrowed my eyebrows.
You were all meant to protect the world... not hide from it.
"But... how?" I whispered, "How am I suppose to protect a world all by myself."
You don't have to do it alone.
Drago's words raced back to me, "Rules or not. I don't care. I don't care if you want to protect me. But it is not us who need protection. It's the world. And the only way to do that is to come out of hiding. Stand with me or not, I'm going to let the world know just who I am. I don't want them to bow to me, I want them to look to me for help. I used to have young children ask for my help with chores, and now my own home is so unfamiliar to me that can't find that capital without a map. That needs to change. So I'm coming clean, I'm going to show myself, I'm going to stand completely with my country again. Because my people need me."
I looked around, my eyes trailed to my hands.
I could break the ice...
I could save those two people.
"Come on," I heard a similar voice. I glanced over to lock eyes with icy blue orbs, "I'm not stupid, (Y/n). I know what you're thinking."
I blinked, "Y-Your gonna help me. But you were against it."
The tall German frowned, "I was against it... I do understand it. With them out there it's only a matter of time before everyone finds out."
I give a soft smile, "I see... Rather... be exposed on your own terms?"
Germany looked down at me, "We wouldn't be ready otherwise."
He had a point we can't be ever be fully ready for something we don't do ourselves... But even then we won't really be ready.
I rushed forward, without paying him another glance.
Cold.
That's all I felt when my hands touched the cool ice.
The two people inside were busy. Alya talking to the little girl with her. Probably telling her a story to keep her busy. To keep her from getting scared.
Just as Drago did for me.
The warm feeling it gave me when she would tell me stories of these great things when the world felt bad.
Stories always made me feel better but something else always stuck with me.
She had sometimes where she seemed to speak as if she knew something was gonna happen.
I closed my eyes as my hands slowly left the ice.
"People are not always bad. In fact, we've had some great people!"
"Like who?"
"So many amazing people have come and gone. People from all over, from every nation."
"Do you think I could be one of those greats?"
"One day. One day so many people will look up to you."
"You think so?"
A pair of icy blue eyes flashed across my vision, "No, (C/n). I know so."
Crack!
My eyes snapped open my fist had landed a heavy blow on the surface.
A dent in the ice told me, that by myself it'll take me a while to do so but I could break the ice on my own.
Rearing my fist back, I swung once more landing another powerful hit on the ice.
The dent deepened.
Another punch.
And another.
And another.
Blow after blow the dent got bigger and bigger until it started to crack.
On the other side of the ice Germany was getting people out of the park pointing them to safe places to hide out until this sudden winter mess stopped.
Crack!
My fist landed one last powerful hit.
A series of loud cracks rang through the park as the ice cracked and split under my force.
Alya looked around holding the little girl close to her. Her eyes soon landed on me. I could see the shock in her eyes.
Unsure of how to respond to her questioning gaze, I simply smiled and waved as I walked away.
I accidentally hit publish before I finished it. Oops...
This is late and short... Welp,
ALL HAIL THE ALMIGHTY BURRITO!!!
