I stand on the edge of the curb waiting for my ride to get here. I rock my feet back and fourth, with my hands in my pocket looking around the neighborhood, mostly gangs hanging around, not that I'm not used to it, but they sometimes threaten people. Most of which the houses are filled with screams of children and moans from teenagers. I landed in a new foster home just last week, with a foster father who's name happens to be Bud. I'm sixteen now. Its been six years since I first landed in the foster system. I've lost contact of Caleb completely and I have no idea where my birth parents are. I still try to find Caleb, as in I try to sneak into Paul's office to find Caleb's files, but then I get caught before even making it through the door. From a distance I hear honking. I look to the right and see Christina's car pull up.

"Tris," Christina says.

Christina is my best friend. I met her in middle school, when she accidentally spilled her lunch on me.

"Hey Christina," I say and get in her car.

"Did you study for that test in science ?," she asks.

"Yup," I say.

"Good," she says and starts to drive off.

"So you know that guy Will," she continues.

"Yeah, I guess" I say.

"He was totally hitting on me yesterday!," she squeals."He was nudging my shoulder and trying to hold my hand it was so cute."

I just smile at her.

"I don't understand this meaning "Love" ," I say jokingly.

"Shut up," she says and pulls up into the school

She finds a parking spot all the way in the corner of the parking lot.

"Do you have any one you like?," she asks me smirking while getting out of the car.

"No," I say getting out of the car as well.

"Sure," she says smirking.

"I don't, why do you always assume," I say walking towards the building.

"Tris, you don't really seem that interested in boys that much, you need to have fun," she says.

I roll my eyes and smile. I walk into the building avoiding people in the hallway, I feel Christina following behind. I turn back and she mouths something I can't understand, but I just shrug it off and she walks away.

Once I reach my locker, after going through the horror of smelling sweaty guys shirts and girls strong perfumes, I put in the combination. I feel someone breathing down my neck. Then I feel someone pull my hair back and whisper," Whats the matter Beatrice." Peter.

I continue doing what I am at my locker for and grab my books. I slam my locker and turn around to face Peter.

"What do you want?," I question.

"Nothing," he says." But just warning you that you better have Molly's homework ready or she's going to have a beating to do today."

"Don't worry, its done," I say.

I push pass him and walk to my english class. Suddenly I get that feeling when   someone is following. I assume it's Peter and I roll my eyes, for the second time today.

"Do you have anything else to do than follow me," I say, but it's not Peter. It's someone else, he's tall and has brown eyes. "Sorry, I thought you were someone else"

"My name is Will. Its fine," he says. Thats the guy Christina keeps obsessing over?

"Your Christina's friend right?," he says.
