If you tell anyone, your brother will be hurt. His words are deeply imprinted at the back of my mind. Who is threatening to hurt Caleb, they should be threatening to hurt me, not him. From a distance I hear a ringing, and then suddenly, I'm back to reality. A history test sits in front of me as I look down, my pencil still in my hand. Everyone is fleeing out and hesitating I quickly circle a random letter and write my name at the top, handing it to the teacher fast and before I know it, Im out of that hell hole.
Damn it Tris, what were you thinking, now you're going to fail the test and its all because you couldn't put your thoughts away. The back of my mind screams at me as I find my way through the crowd, I ignore it, only to find a pang of guilt in my stomach. Tobias is just ahead of me standing next to my locker. As I approach him, his face lights up and he smiles.
"Hey Prior, how'd the test go," he says.
"Uhh, it was good I guess," I say trying not to make it obvious that I didn't try.
"You sure, you seem a bit overwhelmed," he says.
I bite my lip down trying to calm my self. "Yeah, it's just it was harder than I expected."
"You think you failed," he says."You always bite your lips when you're nervous."
I stop biting my lip and grab my science book, shoving it into my backpack, then closing my locker. I tell Tobias that I have to go and that I will see him later. He leaves with a nod and I start heading towards the science classroom. When I walk in, not many people are in, like usual. So instead of sitting in the seat were normally is in the back of the class, I take a seat more upfront, maybe no one will notice.
Minute by minute, the classroom starts flooding with more students and eventually the bell rings, telling us that its time to start todays lesson.

I wait by the steps that are just below the schools main entrance, listening to Twenty One Pilots, observing the cloudy air that exits my mouth. After a few minutes, I grow bored waiting for Christina. I stand up and as if on cue my phone rings. Its Christina.
"Hey," I say.
"Are you Beatrice Prior," a mans voice on the other end says.
"Why?," I say concerned.
"You friend, Christina asked me to call you, she got in a car accident," he says.
"What?!.", I say starting to walk down from the steps. "Oh my god, okay, where is she located?"
"She's located in Yours Only hospital by Foothill and Sirwood," he says.
"Okay thank you, tell her I'm on my way. Wait, whats your name," I say rushing back into school.
"Robert," he says.
"Okay thank you Robert, I'm on my way," I say and hang up the phone.
Everyone is cramming me as I try rushing looking for Tobias, I am in more of an adrenaline rush than I've ever been, how could this happen. I push a girl to the side, apologize slightly as I rush over to Tobias who stands in front of his locker collecting his things.
"Tobias, we need to go now! Christina got in a car accident and she can't be alone right now we ne-," I say so fast I can't catch up with myself.
"Hey Tris calm down, where is she, ill take you, but you need to calm down," he says, grabbing my arms trying to steady me.
"Yours Only hospital, by the streets Foothill and Sirwood," I say grabbing his arm.
"Lets go," he says, slamming his locker shut.
