The brightest ray of sunshine in the history of the earth beamed through the only crack in the black out curtains in the motel room and straight into my sleeping eyes. I began to stir, and my conscious brain could still feel Ben's arms around me. I snuggled into him and tried to block the light with the blanket but was unsuccessful. I slowly opened one eye and could see something black on my pillow. I couldn't tell what it was, so I squinted open my other eye and came face to face with a giant cockroach. Antennas twitching an inch from my nose.

"Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!" I screamed as if I were being murdered, scaring not only Ben, but the cockroach too, making it scurry off the bed.

I jumped out of his arms and stood on the bed hoping that the roach had made it to the floor.

"What? What?" Ben yelled still half asleep and panicking from my screaming.

"There was a fucking roach on my pillow!!" I screeched loudly.

Benjamin just laid back on his pillow and belly laughed.

"It's not funny!" I yelled and kicked his leg. "I could've died!" I exaggerated. He looked at me and smiled.

"You're so cute." He said still smiling.

"Are you going to do something or just lay there?!" I asked him.

"Alright..." He said sitting up and stretching.

"Where's this killer cockroach?" He said sarcastically.

I just pointed to the side of the bed and didn't move. Ben walked around to my side of the bed and leaned down to look under.

"Holy roach!" He said, "that sucker is big!"

"Uh... Told you! And it was on my Fucking pillow!" I said yelling again.

Suddenly Ben jumped back and let out a little yelp and I laughed at him.

"He was coming at me!" He said.

"Kill it!" I continued to scream.

"I have a better idea." Benjamin said.

He grabbed a clear glass from the motel dresser and walked slowly to the massive roach. He quickly put the glass open over the roach and it started running in circles.

"Just a little surprise for the old perverts" he laughed.

"Genius!" I said jumping off the bed and onto him.

He kissed me and then pulled away.

"Mmm... Morning breath!" He said.

"You're...one...to...talk" I said breathily making sure he caught a whiff of my morning breath with every word.

He laughed and said, "You ready to get outta here?"

"Yes please." I agreed.

He set me down and we put our own clothes on and headed out the door.

"Ugh... Do we have to go checkout?" I asked whining.

"Unfortunately..." Benjamin replied already embarrassed.

We walked down the rickety stairs, down the creepy breezeway, past the pool of enlightenment and into the motel lobby. The old man just smiled from ear to ear but didn't say a word.
