"The best things happen unexpectedly"

After leaving Luke's I didn't want to go home and just lay there. I couldn't sleep. I didn't want to go to Piper's house and wake her up. I honestly didn't even want to tell Piper, or anyone for that matter. I didn't know where to go so I drove until I ended up by the airfield. I parked Betty and sat there smoking cigarettes. My head was so fuzzy I couldn't even think straight. I just kept replaying the last hour in my head repeatedly. Why did I go to Luke's house? That was such a mistake. What the fuck is wrong with me? If Amy finds out... Ugh. I don't even want to think what will happen if Amy finds out. He said they aren't even officially broken up yet. Which means he cheated on the proud virgin by losing his virginity to... me. I just got everything I ever wanted but I didn't want it anymore.

Fuck. This is so bad.

I was waiting for the sun to come up when I finally drifted off to sleep.

"Rylee? Rylee." A familiar voice wakes me. "What are you doing here?" It was Benjamin.

I slowly opened one eye and saw him standing next to my car door. Seeing his face made me smile.

"What are you doing here?" He repeated.

"I... uhh..." I stuttered trying to sit up in my seat and regain consciousness.

The sun was beginning to come up and the sky was gray and cloudy.

"I couldn't sleep..." I finally managed to spit out.

"Me neither." he said and walked around to the passenger side and got in.

"How many times have you come out here without me?" I asked curiously.

"This is a first... I just...didn't know where else to go and didn't want to be at home anymore." He said.

"Sounds like me." I replied.

"What's keeping you up?" Benjamin asked as if he didn't really want me to answer.

"I don't know..." I lied.

He just looked at me longingly waiting for me to say more.

"Nothing in particular... Just a little bit of everything." I said thinking about nothing other than Luke's mom on the stairs.

"What about you... What's on your mind?" I asked him to take to take the attention off myself.

"...you." He answered quietly.

I smiled at him and laid my head on his shoulder. We sat in silence watching the early morning flights take off as the sun turned the sky from gray to pink to orange and finally bright blue.

"What are you doing today? Want to spend the whole day together again?" He asked me nervously.

"Yeah... That'd be fun." I answered.

He got into his truck and we drove the hour back to town separately meeting back at my house. When we walked in my mom started to holler at me.

"Rylee! Where have you been? Do you realize Luke's mom called...oh!" She stopped talking once she saw Benjamin.

"Mom. This is Ben. We're going to hang out for a little while, okay?" I told her begging with my eyes not to say anything more about Luke or his mom.

"Oh!! The gas station guy! Right. Okay. It's good to meet you." She politely smiled. "I gotta get to work but can you talk to me later Rylee girl?"

"Sure mom" I said relieved she hadn't said anymore.

"What do you want to do?" I asked Benjamin sitting down at the kitchen table.
