Junior Prom

Talon's POV

So things didn't seem to got to plan yesterday but my new friends would think less of me if I apologized to Pen. I was texting one of my friends and I kinda wish I never read it.

"Yo Talon, you'll never guess what bro? I'm planning on asking Penny to the junior prom, you know the one you pushed into the dirt? Anyway hope that's okay with you you know since she's your enemy."

Was he, SERIOUS?" I can't believe I just read that. So  Martin would dare steal my Penny, its not like she'd wanna go with me anyway but still. I have to get to her before he does. Oh and I'd have to pick out such an incredible suit so she'd have to dance with me.

Penny's POV

Kayla and I got dressed for school and I got a message from Martin. That's funny, he's one of Talon's friends. I showed Kayla the message.

"Looks like Martin wants to meet up at school Pen."

"What should I do Kay?"

"Well reply, I'm sure its nothing drastic."

"Yeah I'll go, come on."

We set out early and caught the bus to the Academy. I kept trembling. Why would Martin wanna meet up with me? Especially as he made fun of me with the other guys yesterday. Kayla was quiet too. Maybe she was nervous... or jealous because a boy wants to talk to me and not her ha ha. 

"Hey Pen why do boys only ever wanna talk to you?"

"I don't know maybe I just have good luck ha."

"Not Funny Penny."

We arrived at school and this group of nerves got to the best of me. Martin actually wanted to speak to me of all people. Was I even ready for this? We walked down to the lunch hall and there he was. I was so nervous but Kayla shoved me right towards him. There was no turning back now.

"Oh Penny, glad you could make it."

"You wanted to talk to me right Martin?"

"Oh yes please join me."

I took a seat beside him. My legs were shaking underneath the table. Damn legs.

"So what can I do for you?"

"Well, I have something important to ask you."

"Go ahead."

"Penny, will you be my date to the prom?"

"I-I'd love to."

Talon's POV

I ran through hallways as fast as I could and I wasn't gonna stop for anything. I had to get to Penny before Martin could. There she was but wait!? Martin was already there. I saw them holding hands and flirting. I walked away slowly. I was too late. I bumped into Kayla on the way back.

"Talon? You alright?"

"Of course I am, why'd you ask?"

"Well, your crying."

"No I'm not!" I wiped my tears away quickly.

I was totally crying right now. I turned away from Kayla and ran back outside. I got my reading book out and I started reading to cover my sadness. I heard people talking in front of me and then I knew I wasn't alone.

"Talon, is everything okay?"

"Penny?"

"C-can I sit there?"

"Oh... sure."

Well things just got really awkward quickly.

Penny's POV

Should I say something? Why was he crying so much? Wait did he see me and Martin?

"So why are you upset?"

"Okay so maybe I know you're gonna go to the prom with Martin but what does it matter to you?"

"Sorry I took concern, I'll be off now."

With that I threw my bag onto my back and headed to the bus. I met with Kayla and we were off. I looked over at Kayla and she seemed really suspicious. She kept covering her phone with her left hand so that I couldn't see what she was doing.

"Who you texting Kay?"

"Its nobody Pen."

"Yeah right gimme the phone."

"GIVE IT BACK PENNY!"

I didn't give her the phone back. Instead I went through her messages only to find something shocking. She'd been messaging TALON! Wait?! He asked her to the prom. What the hell?!
