We live
We die
We breathe
We drown.
Is that not all?
Is that not all this life has to offer?The water is deep;
Is it rough and dark
stormy and frightening. It takes me with its hands
its cool fingers caressing my skin
as I sink deeper.Don't fight,
it murmurs. The chains lock on my feet
The weight tugging me under.
Drowning me.
The guilt fills my lungs with dread, and
Suddenly,
The water is less inviting.
I can see the light
Streaming through the surface,
The perfect image disrupted by choppy glass. We live
We die
We breathe
We drown. If only it was that simple.
