OMNISCIENT.
It had been a rough six months since the trial, and a year exactly since the murder. The mass media has backed off of on Zion, but no one would forget about it anytime soon. Especially with Mykah's funeral outburst, and her unclear televised testimony, she became more famous than the whole the case combined.
It wasn't her intentions, but it ended up helping Zion so she couldn't say she regretted it. The two ended up getting together a few months later, finally deciding the time was right for the two, like it wasn't obvious.
Mykah ended up getting her undergrad and was now working on getting her bachelors degree in child development, since she decided she wanted to teach middle school children. She really wanted to work with eighth graders, to get them ready for high school. Even though she acted sixteen in parties and didn't care about a lot of things, she was honestly amazing with kids and really smart.
Meanwhile, Zion found it hard to fall back in place with the boys like it was before, well at first. After a few weeks he started opening up, since he closed himself off in prison.
In about three months they were back to how they used to be, but now Zion was a lot more expressive when it came to the music. He spent less time playing fortnite and more time with Brandon and Edwin in the studio making music.
The fans noticed more music being released and at first they were skeptical and made their crude prison jokes, but they quickly realized that something had changed within the band. When Zion got locked up, they didn't really post anymore, they barely sampled any music, they were basically gone from the face of the earth, but could you blame them?
Some people obviously couldn't let go of the allegations, and stopped supporting them but it didn't matter to them anymore anyways, all five boys realized life was too short to and worrying about how people felt about what they did or didn't do, and what they did and didn't release didn't matter. It was their band, and their hard work and some little girls weren't going to discourage their passions, especially now that they were back together.
Overall, everyone was happy and living their lives, but they didn't know what was coming.
On this night, the group of six sat around the table, four playing sorry, one playing subway surfers on his phone, and the other sketching the scene in front of him.
"Come on babe you got this." Zion rooted for Mykah as he finally began focusing on the intense game, kissing her cheek with the intent to encourage her. Mykah smiled under his affection and ended up winning first. "Aha bitches." She said laughing as her and Zion high fived before he picked her up and kissed her cheek.
Mykah blushed as she wrapped her legs around his torso and they ended up going upstairs."Don't be loud!"
For a good thirty minutes the two laid on the bed just enjoying each other's presence. Mykah was cuddled into his side with her legs over Zion's as he hugged her closer and his fingers intertwined themselves with her hair. She was on the verge of sleep as she lightly slid her thumb back and forth over his torso and took in his slight scent, which smelt a lot like her conditioner but she wasn't complaining.
"Ky," Zion spoke softly to the half awake girl under him. She looked up to him and met his soft gaze, waiting for him to continue. "I wanna give you something, I've been working on it for a little while."
Zion took his fingers out of her hair and reached over to his side table to grab a small case from the drawer. He handed her a small click and close case with, 'To my baby,' scribbled poorly across the lid.
A warm smile spread across her face as she realized it was a mixtape he made for her. She flipped it to the back and there was a small track list with some songs she knew and some she didn't.
"Can we play it now?" She asked and he nodded. "Yeah of course, but some of them are sad." He said truthfully as he got up and put it in the old school boom box he had under his desk. Soon his calming vocals flooded the small room as they melted back into each other, and that's how they stayed. The couple ended up falling asleep to his rendition to summer on you, cuz that shit tired.
"It's mad quiet up there" Edwin said as all the two other boys realized it too, seeing as Austin went home. "Let's go see what they asses doing." Brandon said and so they all went upstairs. Upon arrival they heard the steady sound of Zion's voice but they went in anyways and found the two curled up to each other, resting peacefully, causing Edwin to groan.
"The song is not fucking boring!" He yelled
