OMNISCIENT.

a few days prior
to the trial

Today was the day, after six month of evidence collection and over analysis on a body that had been above ground too long, it was finally time for his judgement day.

With Mykah being released from the hospital just days before, on the crutches he put her on, she decided to attend. This decision was strongly disadvised but she knew she had to, she deserved the closure and the need for, for her sake, reassurance that he was really dead and she wasn't dreaming it all.

Derek's mother was the one who invited Mykah, but she would've went without invitation anyways. Mykah hated her, and his mother knew why but she chose to turn a blind eye to it, because she knew she deserved the hate she received.

Penelope, Derek's mother, witnessed Derek beat Mykah a few times and she never did a damn thing to stop him. She would act as if she was in distress and leave Derek and Mykah to his own harmful vices, and he knew how harmful he could get.

Still and yet, she played the clueless and hurt mother begging for the sympathy she didn't deserve. In front of cameras she was a true pro, stealing the love and support from helplessly ignorant folks, because they simply didn't know any better. No wonder Derek turned out the way he did.

Now there she stood atop the steepened soap box style podium speaking about her tragically sleign son, who she trumped up to be the shining light of her life, and everyone who ever met him.

"Thank you so much to everyone for coming, and to the media for shining light on my poor boy." She started, sniffling a bit as she dabbed lightly at her eyes. "My baby was taken so early, and he was so bright. He had a lot to offer this world, and I know he would've taken over if he had the chance. But I guess God just wanted him back a little early, now didn't he?" She said with a lighthearted laugh and a few fake tears.

She didn't really care and quite frankly the people that we're truly close knew what was really going on. To most it was just a sad mother, but in all actuality, she was just playing the game. Mykah scoffed and rolled her eyes as Derek's bitch of a mother droned on being the actress she was.

Even for Derek's mother this was low, she shouldn't have even taken the stage. "And now to my son's long time love, Mykah. I know he would've loved to see how beautiful you looked today." She said as people clapped while a few ushers helped her up the stairs seeing as she wasn't used to a lot of walking from her now healed injuries.

Once everyone was seated and quiet she began the speech that shocked the world. "Thank you for this time, Penelope, I greatly appreciate it, but cut the fucking croc tears you're not fooling anyone, you just wanna be famous." She said honestly and a hearty gasp flooded the packed church.

"Don't be surprised, that's not all she's faking." Mykah admitted as the camera crew got progressively closer. "Did she tell you all what her son did to me?" She asked as a wicked smile spread across her face.

"You guys didn't think I wore those big ass boots for no reason did you?" She inquired with a hearty laugh to follow. "Penny dearest, you watched him beat and batter me every single day, just to leave and come back to carry on like nothing ever happened. And don't start with the leaving bullshit because everytime I did, you some how led him right to me." She said.

"But I already figured you out, a while ago babe, you're not just a selfish bitch, you're also a stalker too. You didn't think I wouldn't recognize the blue Sudan you drove here in? The same one that followed me just minutes before Derek would come and snatch me back up. Come on now, you didn't think I was stupid did you, Penny?" She giggled.
