OMNISCIENT.

A year later.

"I'll write you a love song, a war song I'll sing it when the ships come." She sang softly to the mixtape playing softly in the background as she took a long swig of the Fireball and Hennessy mix she concocted.

Mykah had played the mixtape Zion gave to her everyday for the whole year. It was the only real thing she had to remember who he was and what he loved to do.

She played the songs day in and out, to the point where it was all she remembered at some points. When she wasn't listenting to the music she was quietly humming it to herself or saying the lyrics in her head.

The twenty three year old girl sat on the floor in the middle of the living room, rocking back and forth slightly to the music as she played with the gun she had swirling around her finger. "You're beautiful, beautiful, I see them stare but you belong to me."

She let herself fall back in his spot. Mykah had come back to where Zion died, the prettymuch house, just to be around him one more time. She hadn't gotten over his death, and was nowhere near beginning to, but she already knew that.

The boys had obviously moved out and ended up pursuing solo careers, not feeling the same without Zion.

His siblings ended up going back to Canada and making amends with their parents, as they realized life was too short and precious to be apart from their family.

Everyone had ended up getting their closure and came to terms with his death, accept for Mykah. She felt deep down that it was her fault. She felt like if she just pushed them harder or looked more she would've found Penelope.

Mykah believed if she never let her friend bring her to the party, or if she hadn't danced on Edwin, or if she just didn't let herself get close to Zion again then none of this would've happened.

She wished Derek would've killed her instead and left Zion. Somehow she made it her fault and she was going to carry that to her grave.

As the song changed, she stared at the ceiling, all feeling gone from her body. Her mind was blank and she felt at ease alone, with no one to stop her.
Mykah cut all contact after the funeral, not being able to face them because everyone and everything reminded her of Zion.

"Fell in love got a KO, too damn young so we broke up no go." She said as she began to feel the salty sterile tears fall from her eyes.

"So much for a wedding date." Zion sang softly to her as she began to hold back her sobs. "I'm so sorry, I didn't deserve you." She whispered.

"Nobody gets out of love alive, we either break up when we're young or we say goodbye when we die." She sang along with him as her breathing started to collect and rise in her lungs causing gasps to quicken. She felt like she was dying.

"For a moment, at least I knew you were mine and it was beautiful but winter comes and roses don't survive." She curled into a ball as her vision blurred from the river of tears pouring out of her. "It's getting late, and I should go." He sang, and she said along with him.

"Its my fault, baby I'm so sorry." She repeated. "It should've been me." Mykah whispered as she tried to make herself crying. She didn't feel she deserved to.

"I miss when you were my best friend, before love came to kill us." She looked over at the gun as his voice began to intensify in her head. Her suffocated sobs haltered as she slid her hand over to it and slid over the handle.

"So under the mask of the moon, can we dance in the past." She whispered along with him as she picked up the gun and pointed it at herself. For a second she felt something telling her to stop and not do it.

She felt like she heard the voice of Zion, but she pushed him to the back of her mind and pulled the trigger sending the bullet through her sad and broken heart.
