OMNISCIENT

"Swiper, no swiping!" Mykah exclaimed as she beamed with joy running away from her cousin Nani. Her seven year old cousin chased after the newly five year old girl, "whattt?" He dragged out the 't' as she held on to her necklace that 'swiper' was after.

She stopped in her pursuit to her hiding place and her mahogany toned cheeks puffed. "You're not playing it right, Nani, you're supposed to try and swipe not say "whattt?" Like you're stupid." She huffed and flopped onto the bench of the family picnic table.

"Well my bad." He muttered as he sat beside her. "It's okay, maybe we can try again,
I'll try harder, okay?" He asked and she rolled her eyes. "Fine."

The two engulfed themselves back into the intense game of Dora as more kids started to pour into the spacious backyard, including the new kids on the block. His mom had been going around greeting people and that's how they ended up at the neighborhood child hotspot.

As the kids played she seen a girl with light skin and a boy with the same toned skin walk onto the deck from the inside of the house with a white lady holding a small baby. The girl looked more around Nani's age while the boy couldn't be a day older than five and a quarter.

Mykah being the curious and bold child she was walked up the steps to her back deck and greeted them herself.

"Hey, I'm Mykah, and I'm five." She said and put up her hand showing all five of her fingers. Mandy gushed at the small child and wished her a happy birthday as well as Kekeli.

Zion slightly taller figure still somehow towered her as he waved. "Hi, I'm Caleb, and I'm five and a quarter." He smiled showing off his missing tooth as a gloat

"I didn't ask, but my mommy said to let everyone know that drinks and all food is in the basement." She said pointing to the door off the side of the deck which was wide open.

With that her small figure went down the few steps she came up with her colorful tutu bouncing along with her going back into her intense game of now tag.

Further on into the party the parents were in a tight knit group discussing what the children called, "big boring stuff," while they all sat inside Mykahs room listening to music, watching tv, and playing with the plethora of toys the child owned.

As her guests started to file out it left her with the weird dude named Caleb, his sister that she now knew was named Kekeli, and Nani.

Being the two oldest Nani and Kekeli hit it off and started their own conversation leaving the two kids to attend to themselves. After sitting in silence for a bit Caleb finally spoke up, "you're mean."

"what?" She asked as she looked up at him

"You're mean, you said you didn't care about my name or that I'm five and a quarter." He whiled feeling hurt.

"Too bad, you tried stealing my shine, it's my day, sis." She said sassily, taking after Nani's older sister.

"Um, I think I'm a boy." He said with a slight tone of attitude

"Again, I didn't ask."

"I ain't coming back over here no more." He mumbled under his breath

"Whatcha said? Speak up, sis!" She exclaimed hopping up

"You aren't going to do anything!" He said back standing up as well causing the two seven year olds to look their way.

"And? Who's gonna check me?" She asked putting her hand on her hip

"Me girl, sit down!" He checked

"You can't make me!" She challenged really going at it with the finger snap of her opposite hand.

"Keep that same energy, watch when I got candy in the neighborhood. Don't ask for nothing!" He said putting emphasis on the nothing

This caused her head to turn, "what kind?"

"Skittles, and gummy worm eggs, and Twix." He said as he listed her favorite candies only knowing them from hearing her parents discuss it earlier with the parents since for the first few minutes he sat under her with his little brother.

"But I want some." She whined softly

"Well sit down, and chill out, thank you." He said and she did as told suddenly becoming nice leaving the older two astonished.

"That's what I thought." He said as he sat back beside her and the two began to play with her toys like nothing happened.

The two began seeing each other more and more after that day. When Kindergarten started Caleb, who now went by Zion, ended up in her class and sat beside her. What Mykah seen was a best friend by the first grade, but Caleb had a different thinking.

He had developed a form of puppy love for his best friend Mykah, and it was quite noticeable to everyone but her. Every valentines from elementary to the eighth grade he brought her a rose and her favorite candy along with adding a new bear to her growing collection. Along with this he never liked to leave her side, he felt responsible for the actions of Mykah and took up for her in every situation; Zion was infatuated with an oblivious Mykah.

Mykah herself didn't develop any sort of feelings for him until sometime during tenth grade. She was at home sprawled across her couch with a friend of hers and she was upset, surprisingly over Zion.

The two had gotten into a petty argument causing her to ponder their relationship. She let the thought of him encase itself in her mind and when she did she never felt the same way.

After they made up the two were inseparable yet separated all at once. She didn't want to be awkward but she wanted to still talk to him which took a toll on their relationship, physically and emotionally.

They didn't talk as much outside of school and it caused one to think about the other until they ended up at the others doorstep feeling guilty for the new neglections leading them back to square one; infatuated and crowdedly alone.
