"Do you really think that you can beat me demigod? I may be the last one left, but so are you." Gaea cackled.
I was breathing heavily, my jacket torn in places. I pulled Riptide out of the ground and shifted into a fighting stance.
"I don't know if I can beat you, but I know that I have to try! I am not going to let their sacrifice be in vain!"
Seven half bloods shall answer the call...
I dodged out of the way of an earth spire, casting a glare at the gods. I rushed forward, a small hurricane gathering around me.
To storm or fire the world must fall...
I'm not going to let them have died for nothing.
An oath to keep with a final breath...
I'm going to make sure everyone who helped us along the way. Everyone who gave their lives...
I'm going to make sure they're remembered.
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death...
Gaea laughed as she dodged my attacks. "Oh you think you're tough do you? How tough will you be when you can't breath?!"
Wha-
My eyes widened and I clawed at my neck. Can't- breathe-
I shot up in bed, breathing heavy. I could feel Percy tossing beside me. I reached over and turned on a light. Her hand was clawing at her own throat.
I carefully gathered her into my arms making sure she didn't hurt herself. If her fingers catch on her gills...
I rubbed my own neck, knowing that I could have easily been in her position. No wonder she freaked out when I put her necklace on her...and no wonder she needed to leave the temple in Athens.
"Percy...wake up..." I gently shook her. "Wake up."
She jerked awake, her eyes not focusing on anything. Eventually they settled on me and she relaxed.
"Are you okay?" I tilted her chin up so I could look at her neck. Red scratches covered the front of her neck...some disturbingly close to her gills. "That nightmare..."
"You saw?" She mumbled.
"Yes. Are you okay?"
She nodded and nestled closer to my chest. "Will you stay awake with me? I do not think I will be able to fall asleep."
"What is another night without sleep?" I chuckled, releasing her so she could sit on my lap.
"You can go to sleep if you want." Percy stared at me, fingers tracing my tattoos before hers lit up, causing mine to as well.
A few of her emotions tainted the flow of energy.
"You...you are not handling it well." My shoulders dropped as I stared at her. "You blame yourself."
Every single thing...every single thing I tried to do to protect her...when I told her it was her fault...
It was not acting. But I should have known better than to blame her.
"You know what my fatal flaw is Kaldur." She whispered, allowing her tattoos to fade back to black.
I bit my lip before placing my hands over hers.
This time my tattoos caused hers to light, and I purposely let my emotions spill over.
It is strange that Percy is the only one I can do this with, but I assume it involves us being twins.
"You do not have to worry about me." She sighed.
I raised an eyebrow. "You are my-"
"If you say baby sister, I will slap you." Percy glared at me, pulling her hands away.
"Little sister." I said, smiling.
Even as my cheek stung, I continued to smile. "You are, I do not understand why you get upset."
"You hold that over me all the time. You are hours older than me, not years." She crossed her arms.
I reached over and turned off the light. I laid down, pulling Percy with me.
We quickly moved into our usual sleeping position, with Percy closer to my chest than usual.
A brief burst of light from our tattoos brightened the room as she settled.
I grinned, the emotion washing over me. "I love you as well."
Canary
I walked through the hallways towards Percy's room. I wanted to check on her earlier but...
Oliver needed me to help him. Which he knew I was helping the Team with the aftermath of their exercise, but he called me in anyway.
I went to open the door, only to find it locked. I frowned.
If her door has been locked since earlier, she could...
Well, denial can be destructive. And considering her death was one of the more gruesome, things could turn south.
I overrode the lock and turned the lights on.
I froze in the doorway, before a smile spread across my face. "Aw."
Walking over to the bed, I looked down at Kaldur and Percy. The two Atlanteans were tangled together. Kaldur seemed to be protecting Percy.
As they slept, I could see each of their tattoos lighting up, almost like a heartbeat.
I'm going to have to ask Orin about that. I've helped tend to Kaldur a few times and I have never seen his tattoos do that.
I shook my head and grabbed a blanket before pulling it up over the two of them.
I will also have to ask Orin how the two of them went from wanting to kill each other to falling asleep like this.
And what happened before Percy arrived.
This is...something
But I'm half asleep.
I almost spelled asleep salepp.
Anyway...I want you guys to help me with something
Should percy and Kaldur be
Full brother and sister
Or
Half siblings (it is possible to have twins with different fathers)
Anyway...
See yah
