"It is good to have you with us again." Kaldur smiled at me as I walked out of the Zeta Tube.

Black Canary stared at me. "I thought you had been sent back to Poseidonis."

I smiled. "The princess told our king that I will be resuming my duties here. Much better than settling disputes underwater."

I looked over at Kaldur. "There was a Purist attack earlier, which is why I am late."

"You are not injured are you?"

"I am fine. Lori is fine as well. The Purists...not so much."

Kaldur's eyes widened. "She was attacked? How?"

"In the same manner we were first targeted." I rubbed my shoulder. I know the skin icon covers the scar, but I know it is there.

"Training is done for the day. Percy, come with me." Black Canary gestured for me to follow her.

I sighed and walked after her, noting the footsteps behind me. Soon Kaldur's hand took mine and he walked beside me.

"So Lori knows you are back?"

"Her and Tula. I told them I wished to tell the others myself."

Kaldur nodded and released my hand, pressing a kiss to my cheek. "Try to not make Black Canary mad."

"I will not promise anything."

I walked into the room and sat across from Black Canary, the gentle splashing of the waterfall filling what would have otherwise been silence as I waited for her to start speaking.

"Percy, you shouldn't be here. There's a reason why Aquaman had you return to Atlantis."

"And there are also reasons why I should be here instead of Atlantis."

"Like?"

I chewed the inside of my lip before responding. "I know my king was worried about me interfering with Kaldur's leadership abilities, but if that is so, me being away from Kaldur would effect him worse. He is a worrier by nature. And not without reason."

"What reason would he have to worry?"

I swallowed and mumbled a single word in Atlantean.

"Percy, what does that mean?" Black Canary asked, leaning forward.

"Impure."

"Why does that make Kaldur worried? It's a word."

I chuckled softly. "You do not understand. That word...that single word...can you imagine having that scarred into your flesh? Having a group who hates how you look so much that they would do that to a child?"

"That's...horrific."

I nodded. "Purists wish to rid the ocean of Atlantean's who do not appear human. Kaldur and I have visible gills. Either one of us swimming, even as our king's champions...it is more than cause for concern. Though our king believes the Purists have by and large been dealt with, anyone with a set of fins to their name knows that is not true. But without hard evidence, all we can do is live in fear."

"Have either of you been targeted?""

"Both of us, and not just once." My hand once again moved to my shoulder. "The first time we were both taken, and since then Kaldur has been protective of me."

"How long have the two of you known each other?" Black Canary's eyes stayed on my shoulder.

I sighed and moved my hand. "If you are curious, you can ask me about it. I do not mind."
