Author's Note

It took me years to finish this. Omg.

I don't know whether I should post this author's note or not because I still have the unfinished epilogue (more like a semicolon, actually) in the drafts. Part of me wants to end this with the last chapter, but the other part also wants to post the epilogue, as a one last glance on Dale and Althea. Maybe someday, maybe not.

But Dale and Althea's story doesn't ever really end there. This book is just their beginning and they'll probably have more adventures together. Maybe you'll see them again. (fingers crossed)

Now this part might trigger some of you, but I just want to say that I've thought of this story when I was writing my suicide note four years ago.

One late night, after reading a book where the main guy ended up killing himself, I decided to write my note. I was listening to some music while writing when a particular song came into shuffle and an idea hit me. I felt like it was a cliché one but still—it was a boy falling in love with a familiar stranger. The thing was I was writing all of this down in the same paper I was writing my suicide note at two in the morning. When I woke up, my letter and my new story idea were mixed up. And I was just like "hey might as well just post that since no one's gonna read it anyway."

This story has been really special to me because it's not just ideas and made-up scenarios that I've come up with. Most of Dale's journal entries—that was me. Those were my thoughts in the late nights I couldn't sleep. I am Dale. So writing this story saved me.

I just want to thank every single one of you who gave this story a chance and fell in love with it. I couldn't have made it without your support. If you're wondering what's my next work, I have a new story called "Against Aysel," you can find it here on my wattpad profile. I've also been writing a few BTS fanfics. I haven't posted any of them yet but if you're interested in those, you can check out my Ko-Fi page (the link is in my profile) where I'll post some blurbs and teasers and even support me by buying me some coffees, maybe?

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this journey. I love you.
