I left my bedroom and headed towards the music room where my old piano stayed. When I entered the room it was the same as always. The walls were painted aqua blue with white crowning. The carpet of looked white as a pearl. But the piano was right next to a gigantic window where you can see this huge yard with a large wooden patio and a big pool. I got to admit, Ana was living the dream life and me not so much. I didn't really like living in luxury that much. I was more simple, like an old fashion girl for instance. My dream house was to have a grey-coloured home with a big porch and a huge yard with white picket fence all around. I paused a moment and looked at the piano. To be married and have kids, grow old together, die together. Live life with him. I held my tears in. It was too painful to thing about Josef right now. I sat down at the piano with my back straight and my feet on the ground, there I placed my hands on the keys gently. I couldn't remember the last time I played, it has been so long that I heard the sound of the piano.
I notice that there's a black binder sitting on the piano stand waiting to be opened. I gently opened the cover and began scanning for a song. I already knew what song to play I just didn't know the name. I remember it was the first song that I've ever played in front of Josef.
With every page I'd flipped I started to remember the music, then I found it. The song was called Kiss the Rain by Yiruma. In front of the page was a red anime rose. I guess Ana drew that for fun along time ago.
I played the first measure, just to see what will go on in my head. Images of me and him having wonderful memories. I continued on with the song. With every note I'd played, more and more moments I had with Josef came to my head. When we had our first dance, our first kiss, our first date. These memories were to precious to me, they reminded me when I was happy for once in my terrible life. As I got to the end of the song I was startled by Eddie who was leaning against the wall admiring the sound of music Id played. "Darling!" He said as he walked over to me with a surprised smile. He threw his hands around my stomach and pulled me closer to him. I felt his breath on my skin, as he spoke in his royal, deep voice it only gave me tingles and pleasure all over my body. "I did not know you play piano. This can be something to entertain our kids" he said as he started kissing my collar bone all the way up to cheek close to my lips.
I wanted him to stop, but I couldn't resist. Sure, I didn't like the man but I'm also a woman, sometimes a woman need pleasure and passion.
I'd stopped him by asking "Do you play, Eddie?" He stopped kissing my neck and looked at the piano, and he gave me sigh. "No, I never learned. I was more of a actor than musician growing up" he said as he stood up.
That explains why he's so dramatic.
"Oh, really" I said as I turned my body away from the piano.
"Yeah, I was a drama teacher"
"What college?"
" University of North Carolina School of the Arts"
"What degree?"
"Bachelor's degree in directing and teaching. And what about you. What school did you go to"
"I went to Juilliard in New York, got a Artist Diploma In Opera studies and Master Of Music and Graduated Diploma, in voice"
"Wow you're an opera singer"
"Yeah, studied all the way since elementary"
"I bet your job was amazing"
"Well, I got a job as a vocal coach and trainer for kids"
"You love teaching kids how to sing"
"Yeah, I do. It's been my dream to teach kids how to sing professionally kinda like opera singers and go on to live their dream on the stage"
"Marie, have you ever been in a play?"
"I have, but it was a musical play"
"What is your favourite play?"
I thought about it.
"Phantom of the Opera"
A surprise smile came to Eddies face.
"Mine too!"
We were having an average adult friendly conversation. With no inappropriate stuff, just plain old conversation. The more I got to know Eddie, the more close we became. I guess Eddie and me could be friends, but nothing more than that. I wasn't looking to get in a relationship with Eddie that quick. I just wanted to get to know him first. We were talking till 10:00 in the morning till 2:50 in the afternoon. During that time, we talked mostly about our past jobs, and books, but what we had most in common was in music.
"So you too like the American Quartet" he asked
"Oh yeah, I used to listen them all the time. What was your favorite song?"
"I want a girl that married dear old dad"
"Oooo that's my favorite also"
Soon we both started singing I want a girl.
"I want a girl just like the girl that married dear old dad, she was a pearl and the only girl that daddy ever had. A good old fashion girl with heart so true. One who loves nobody else but you, I want a girl just like the girl that married dear old dad" we both giggled and I just had to ask him. "Eddie, do you know how to dance" I looked straight in to his blue eyes. He chuckled a little bit. "I do but-" he looked at the window.
"I always wanted to learn ballroom dancing" he turn to look at me.
"Do you know how to ballroom dance?" He gave me a smile.
"I took classes from a friend" he stood up and put out his hand "I wanna see how well you dance" I blushed and took his hand. I was about to put my hand on his shoulder when Ana walk in. "Well, well, well what's going on here" she crossed her arms. Eddie and I said nothing. She walked towards me and pulled me by the arm. "I'm gonna borrow Marie for an hour or two, cause were gonna go to the hair salon, will be right back" we left the house in hurry before Eddie could say anything.
"GOD! Marie were already late for my appointment" she said with her hands on the wheel driving like mad. "Well you could of just left without taking me" I said. "Yeah, but I want to talk to you about something"
I ignored her. We heading straight towards the downtown area, which I thought was weird because Ana hates being in downtown. "Where are we going?" I asked. "To Charlie's salon of course" she answered.
Charlie's salon is own by our crazy, sassy, friend Charlie. I loved Charlie, we've been friends for years. In fact Charlie, used to be a dance teacher before he became a hairstylist. I remember when he taught me how to dance, boy I was terrible, but when Charlie taught me I became a pro. We pulled up to an huge sign that says Charlie's Place. Ana hopped out of the car and wobbled to the door shouting "Charlie! I'm here"
