Here goes nothing.
Janie navigated through the large house cautiously. According to Doc, Nikki had bought this place fairly quickly after the two of them had split up. Apparently living in their old house proved too hard for him.
Too many memories of her.
Or that's what he told people.
"It's a hell hole." Doc warned her.
And he wasn't kidding. Sure, the house itself was beautiful, but it stunk of booze & drugs. Janie wondered how Karen Dumont, one of Elektra's employees, could stand to house sit this place. Admittedly, Janie was shocked when it was Karen who answered the door. And Karen seemed just as shocked to see her.
"Janie? What are you doing here?"
Truth be told, now that she was here Janie had no idea why she was standing on that doorstep.
I'm not coming back unless you sober up. She had tearfully told Nikki the day she left.
And she had kept that promise, for nearly two years now.
But when word began to spread around the ER last night that the Mötley Crüe bassist had died, been brought back to life, and was now being brought in, her curiosity got the better of her. Janie excused herself from the nurses station and wandered over to his room.
Only once she got there, he was long gone. He'd apparently ripped the IV out of his arm & walked out of the hospital in nothing but his leather pants.
Of course he did.
The sight of that empty hospital bed ignited a rage within her so strong that Janie decided to give Doc a call & get Nikki's address.
"Are you sure about this? A lot has changed since you left, and not for the better." Doc had warned her.
"I need to see him." Janie said simply before hanging up the phone.
So instead of going home to finish wrapping her Christmas presents, Janie made the drive to Van Nuys to give Nikki Sixx a piece of her mind.
"Fucking idiot." she muttered to herself as she walked to the front door.
When Karen answered the door, Janie was caught off guard to say the least.
"I...is he here?" Janie stuttered, suddenly second guessing herself for coming.
"Yeah. He showed up early this morning after hitching a ride home from a couple of fans. He was banging on the door like a madman because he didn't have his key." Karen answered.
"Do you mind if I come in?" Janie asked.
"Oh sure," Karen responded, "he went upstairs & straight to bed."
Karen moved past Janie and started walking towards her car.
"Where are you going?" Janie questioned.
"To work," Karen shrugged, "just make sure you lock the front door before you leave."
"S-sure thing." Janie said, put off by the fact that Karen was just going to leave a man who'd died and been brought back to life at home by himself.
Karen explained where Nikki's bedroom was before getting in her car, leaving Janie alone in the doorway.
The entire drive over she'd been fuming, going through her head all of the things she would say once she finally laid eyes on him. But now that she was in the house, his house, and saw the state it was in, her earlier fury began to subside, only to be replaced with a sick sense of sadness.
With the door to his bedroom standing before her, Janie's nerves began to overwhelm her. It had been so long, how would he react when he saw her? How would she react to seeing him? Part of her wanted to turn around and leave, just as she'd done nearly two years prior.
But she'd made it this far, why turn back now? She grasped the door handle to Nikki's room with shaking hands & opened it.
When the smell hit her nose she nearly gagged. Sure the house stunk, but it seemed to be magnified tenfold in this room. The room was an absolute mess. Bottles of booze, used syringes, and clothes littered the floor. The sheets on the empty bed looked like they hadn't been washed in months.
Janie looked around the room - no sign of Nikki. She checked every other room in the house, the backyard, the garage, and still no sign of him. Maybe he had slipped out again without Karen noticing? Then Janie had a thought. She made her way back to the bedroom, standing just outside of the closet doors. She released an unsteady breath before she opened the doors, but nothing could have prepared her for the sight in front of her.
Nikki was passed out on the floor of the closet, wearing only his leather pants. A needle was stuck in the crook of his elbow, a trail of dried blood went from the needle all the way down to his hand.
Her hand flew to her mouth as she choked back a sob.
Oh, Nikki.
She blinked the wetness from her eyes as she bent down over him.
Doc had told her things had gotten worse since she had left. She had just never expected it to be this bad.

Hey y'all! Thanks for taking the time to read this! I'm super excited/nervous to start posting this story. I usually never post the stuff I write on Wattpad (I'm very self critical) so here goes nothing...
I've seen a lot of people posting about Mötley Crüe since The Dirt came out last month, which is awesome since I grew up listening to them from my parents' albums! It gave me the inspiration to actually start writing this story that I've had for awhile in my head.
There will be a few time jumps but I'll always try to make note of what era we're in at the beginning of each chapter. Anyway, if you're here I hope you like it!
